And the rest of the Story… Rumble In Oceanside.

The returning RockNES Monster Johnny Yuma p The Polish Tyrant Andre Machievski. After the match there was a show of sportsmanship.

Anchors Away’s “Open” Challenge was not the Ballard Brothers or the RockNES Monsters but the…um, fresh team of Pulpo Dorado and the debuting Dewey Blackburn. AA retained the Tag Titles.

The breakup of the Mirror Image Mega Stars continued as Mega Star Tommy Wilson faced Mirror Image Ricky Mandel. Ricky won this round after former ref Everett Scott, disguised as La Parka – or LA Park, I’m not sure – ran in to attack Tommy and drape the Mirror Image over his cold, lifeless…oh, sorry, got carried away. As Wilson almost did.

The last match before intermission was supposed to be B-Boy challenging Big Duke for the SCP Heavyweight Championship. However, the New Age Punisher was not in the house. Lovin’ Nick Lovin was the replacement and champ and challenger put on a worthy match. In the end, Duke retained. Rumor has it that B-Boy may be suspended. Time will tell.

After intermission – and a birthday ceremony for a 102 year old fan – the Rumble in Oceanside began. As JayCal has said, it’s fun watching some of these wrestlers debut fresh outta school. Although there were several other athletes advertised that did not make it for reasons unknown, the Royal Rumble-styled match began. Several recent grads brought their own families and cheering sections which made for a very full house and a good buzz all night long. The Divine Brothers and Mike Camden were among these. SoCal Crazy, also two-time winner of the Oceanside Rumble. He was then beaten down by former GS title holder Big Duke in a heel turn.

SoCal Crazy

Congratulations to all! Next card will be held on November 9th – possibly the last event of the year if previous years are any indication. Already booked is…well, me. I’ll be in the stands again for another great evening!
