Jay Cal’s View #94

Scorpio Sky challenging Rev Pro Junior Heavyweight Champion Super Dragon from 2003 is the Clip of the Week this week.  Have you checked out my new favorite app?  Could another SoCal Wrestler appear on IMPACT tonight?  Plus I’ve got this week’s up coming schedule.  Get in where you fit.

Clip of the Week
Yesterday I was checking out my new favorite app for my iPod, Filmon (more on that in a minute.)  I stumbled upon a match I enjoyed quite a bit.  From August 2003, Revolution Pro Junior Heavyweight Title Match between Super Dragon (c) vs. Scorpio Sky.  It was on the Masked Republic.  It really is a great match between two damn good wrestlers in Southern California.  Super Dragon is awesome.  This early Scorpio is quite different from Sky today, but it’s cool to see him with the mask back in the day and his style was a little more aerial.  Anyway, I enjoyed the match so much, I made it Clip of the Week.

If you’ve attended any of the CWF Hollywood Tapings in the past year or so, you might have seen a banner or two from Flimon.com.  I had checked it out a few months ago and was happy to see so much of the early CWF Hollywood footage from the earlier TV shows and the Arena Tours.  When I was exploring the app on my ipod I found a second channel that I didn’t know was there.  The Masked Republic Channel. This channel featured XPW, Wrestling Society X, seemingly a lot of the Big Vision wrestling stuff (including a handful of NWA DVD releases), as well as Rev Pro.  I had forgotten that along the way the company that is Masked Republic had acquired the old Rev Pro footage.  If you have an iPod, you can download the app for free, the use of Standard Definition channels is also free, it is extra for HD.  It also has live TV, which is pretty cool too.  There is a lot of programing I haven’t even looked at yet, but I have found a few hours of entertainment looking at the two channels I’ve mentioned.  Hope you take a look.

Is TNA ready to Pass the Gravy?
Recently a photo was released within social media that featured Shaun Ricker. The photo was nothing controversial, however was taken by Lee South Photography.  Based out of Tampa, Lee South Photography is mostly known for their terrific photos for TNA Impact.  With Shaun Ricker already having one try out match for TNA, could Ricker be saying “EVERABODY IS A DUMMY” on National TV?  Ricker has been one of the bright stars on CWF Hollywood and it looks like me might be joining the likes of Joey Ryan, Mason Andrews (Scorpio Sky), and Lars Only (Johnny Yuma).  Best of luck to Ricker and tune into tonight’s Impact, there might be someone from Hollywood on it.
