BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of IWL “Stargasm” at American Legion Post #299, Chino on June 15th 2012. Large crowd on hand for this show, and both the hard cameras & the soundsystem/broadcasting tables were moved to the other side of the hall. Dustin Cutler was spotted visiting the wrestlers and the fans during intermission.
P – Magnum Pro Wrestling showcase match. Todd Chandler p. Ryan Kidd w/ a Backslide, w/ both feet on the middle ropes that were not caught by the referee.
* – The iPPV began w/ a series of promos cut by Eric Watts, Christian Cole, Justin Ryke, Eric Cross, & Joey Ryan. Brawl later ensued as the heels unloaded on Justin Ryke, and The Young Bucks & Amazing Red made the save.
1 – Willie Mack p. Terex w/ the Standing Moonsault, followed by the Frog Splash, and the ring survived the stress from over 800 lbs. of wrestlers and referee.
2 – Tyler Bateman (w/ Raze) p. Peter Avalon w/ the Tombstone Piledriver, followed by the big Clothesline.
3 – Triple Threat Tag Team action. Ground Zero (Joseph Knox & Riki De La Paz) def. The Mixtape Kings (Jerome “LTP” Robinson & Jacob Diez, w/ Christian Cole) & Team High Risk (Simon Lotto & Steven Andrews). Ground Zero timed their winning move perfectly when Diez & LTP hit a team finisher on one of the Team High Risk members, thwarting a LTP cover, and hit their own finisher–a Joseph Knox German Suplex, Riki De La Paz Backstabber combination for the pin.
* Ray (Rrrrrrrrr)Rosas comes out and bribed Vic Luna w/ a fortune cookie to become the special guest enforcer for the next match, a #1 Contender’s Match for the IWL Anarchy Championship.
4 – Said #1 Contender’s Match for the IWL Anarchy Championship between Famous B & Chris Kadillak ended in a double count-out, thanks to the quick 10-count from Ray Rosas after the original referee was knocked down. Ray didn’t have time to revel in the lack of a title match opponent, since Vic Luna later announced that his title defense was next.
5 – Ray Rosas used underhanded tactics to successfully defend the IWL Anarchy Championship, getting the DQ win over B-Boy with the successful sell of a chair shot to the head from an intervening Tyler Bateman. Famous B & Chris Kadillak wouldn’t let Ray Rosas get away so easily, but what looked like a 4-on-1 beat down on Rosas turned into a brawl between the two sets of rivals, forcing Vic Luna to make a pair of matches for August’s “New Era 7” show.
6 – After intermission, Eric Watts (w/ Christian Cole) successfully defended the IWL Heavyweight Championship in a battle between both members of the IWL Tag Team Champions, pinning Justin Ryke after Joseph Knox had intervened to give Ryke a KO punch.
SM – Dog Collar Match, which was the final round of Johnny Saovi’s Gauntlet. Johnny Saovi endured a bloody beat down from rival Eric Cross, using the dog collar chain to “incapacitate” Eric Cross with a choking move, using the top rope for leverage. Looks like Johnny Saovi has now earned his shot at the IWL Heavyweight Championship at “New Era 7”.
M – The Amazing Red & “Trending” Joey Ryan def. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson). There were some disparity between Amazing Red & Joey Ryan, complete w/ Joey Ryan eating a steel chair that was kicked to his face by Amazing Red. Red then went on hit the Code Red on Matt Jackson for the pin.
So, for August’s “New Era 7” show, 2 matches are locked in, and 1 other is very likely. Johnny Saovi should get his shot at the IWL Heavyweight Championship against Eric Watts, while Ray Rosas puts his IWL Anarchy Championship against Famous B & Chris Kadillak….IN A LADDER MATCH, and B-Boy & Tyler Bateman will have their rematch from their “IWL Enters 2012” stalemate last February….IN A LAST MAN STANDING MATCH.
