BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of Mach-1 Wrestling “Double Down” Double Show at The Epic Lounge, Downey, CA April 22 2012. 2-shows were held on the same day at the same place, and both 1 1/2-hour shows drew relatively large crowds.
AFTERNOON MATINEE SHOW
1 – Ridiculously Bigg (Ridiculoso & Mr. Biggz) def. Luis Tapia & Angel Lopez when Ridiculoso hit his leg drop finisher on Luis Tapia, bouncing off both Mr. Biggz & Angel Lopez to do it.
2 – The Chef p. Johnny Saovi w/ a Flapjack Facebuster.
3 – Eric Cross rolled up & pinned Angel Santos after nut-shotting him w/ a Mule Kick behind the back of Referee Kevin Spencer.
* Stu Stone & James Morgan interrupted a promo being cut by someone named “The Ultimate Smasher Crasher”(?). Andrew Hellman came out next, leading to the next match.
4 – James Morgan p. Andrew Hellman w/ a Jackknife cover after executing his own Mule Kick to the nuts. To Andrew’s credit, he didn’t give James Morgan the pleasure of getting in his Chickenwing submission hold.
5 – Fresh 2 Death (Leo Blaze & Josh Rozay) def. Anchors Away (David E. Jones & Ryan Stone). I believe it was Josh Rozay who p. David E. Jones w/ what looked like a Canadian Backbreaker.
SM – Brian Weston p. Todd Chandler w/ a powerslam in a great semi-main.
M – Jarek Matthews successfully defended the M1W Championship, pinning Kyle Webb w/ the Frog Splash. James Morgan ran in to go after Jarek Matthews, but was chased off by Andrew Hellman.
EVENING SHOW
1 – Todd Chandler p. Luis Tapia w/ what looked like a Modified Pump Handle Slam or a slam off a Chickenwing hold.
2 – Triple Threat Singles Match. Angel Lopez def. Johnny Saovi & Brian Weston when he speared Johnny Saovi for the pin.
3 – Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Anchors Away def. Fresh 2 Death & Ridiculously Bigg when Ryan Stone p. Leo Blaze w/ a Crucifix Rollup to counter a team move.
4 – Angel Santos p. Eric Cross w/ the Gutbuster, denying Eric Cross the pleasure of another nut shot.
SM – Kyle Webb p. The Chef w/ the Crucifix Destroyer in another great sem-main.
M1 – Jarek Matthews successfully defended the M1W Championship, pinning James Morgan (w/ Stu Stone) w/ the Top Rope Leg Drop. It looked like deja vu all over again, as the finish was similar to a Friday Fight Night show last August, when Jarek won the title. James Morgan tried to break Jarek Matthews’ left arm after the match, only to be run off by Andrew Hellman, who demanded his own title show immediately.
M2 – Jarek Matthews successfully defended the M1W Championship again, pinning Andrew Hellman w/ the signature Tornado Suplex. At least these two, who really haven’t seen eye-to-eye lately, save for a common foe in James Morgan, showed a sense of sportsmanship. Perhaps in the end, Jarek Matthews solidly legitimized his championship reign.
