BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of Dungeon Championship Wrestling’s Sunday Night Wrestling at Foothill Lodge 305, Monrovia, CA on April 15th 2012. Although the show got rolling pretty late while some of the wrestlers arrived from the Vendetta Pro Wrestling show earlier that day in Ridgecrest, CA, there was still a strong turnout for this show, at the venue where the Elite Masters of Combat show is scheduled to be held later this month. Now, some of the names I didn’t fully catch, as there were some new faces here, so they have been marked w/ a “(?)”.
1 – Ryan Kidd rolled up & pinned Nick Lovin, countering a Lungblower or Codebreaker attempt.
2 – Jimmy Mayhem p. Booker Cash(?), and he put his power game to good use in this match.
3 – Intergender Tag Team Action. Thunderkitty & Mr. Tanaka def. “The NY Knockout” Nikki & Ryan Crowe(?). While the two ladies brawled to the back late in the match, Jimmy Mayhem came out and powerslammed Ryan Crowe(?), then put Mr. Tanaka on top of him for the pin. Ouch!
4 – Allison Danger rolled up & pinned Athena in a great ladies match. Great technical action, and Allison “achieved perfection”, when her choke on Athena w/ her left shin was never caught by Referee Justin Borden. Why can’t we So Cal fans get more of this kind of women’s wrestling more often?
5 – After intermission, Austin Draven (NWA Hollywood’s “W”) p. Andre Machievski w/ a Fireman’s Carry Slam.
SM – Lucha Libre tag team action in the chase for the DCW Tag Team title. Ultimo Shamu & Dragon Mask def. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) and The L.A. F’ers (Piloto Suicida & Shamu Jr.). With Ultimo Shamu pinning Piloto Suicida w/ a powerslam, it effectively left Ultimo Shamu & Dragon Mask to face off w/ Los Luchas in the 6/23 Final to crown the first DCW Tag Team Champions. Match of the night.
M – DCW Heavyweight Champion Famous B v. Brian Cage ended in a No Contest when Brian Kendrick ran in and attacked Famous B, giving him the Sliced Bread #2 in the end. Hhmm, apparently, Brian Kendrick wants a shot at the DCW Heavyweight title, but so does Brian Cage.
Do I smell a Triple Threat match for the title at the 6/23 show?
