With the “Bad Ass Mother 3000” in the books, and “The Future” Frankie Kazarian crowned the first ever Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Champion, all eyes turn to October 4, when PWG gloriously presents “Pro Wrestling Guerrilla: Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?”! The line up is already set in place, and now it’s up to you to keep reading!Mr. Excitement, Phoenix Star & Charles Mercury vs. Lil’ Cholo, Zokre & Top Gun Talwar – PWG Commissioner Paul T picked 6 wrestlers who he believed would present the fans with a kick ass opening contest, but they wouldn’t lower themselves to work for PWG. Instead, he chose the veteran Mr. Excitement to lead a ragtag bunch of young up-and-comers, Phoenix Star and Charles Mercury, to battle the team of the street savvy trio of Lil’ Cholo, Zokre, and Top Gun Talwar!
Scorpio Sky vs. Hook Bomberry – Scorpio Sky & Hook Bomberry were the two biggest underdogs heading into the “Bad Ass Mother 3000” tournament, and despite their relative newness to the sport, both men are held in high regard in the PWG locker room. Commissioner Paul T, knowing it’s best to please the locker room and not the fans, knew this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase these competitor’s abilities in a one on one confrontation.
Team Chismo (Excalibur & Disco Machine) vs. “Photogenic” Chris Bosh & Quicksilver – After being knocked out by the brutal Minnesota Lariat by Excalibur on the PWG debut show, Chris Bosh has been demanding a rematch. Paul T agreed to it, but during the intricate signing process, Excalibur’s agent, Saul Silverman, advised him against taking this match. Instead, Excalibur offered up a Tag Team Rookie Challenge, pitting himself and Disco Machine (who Excalibur holds Power of Attorney over) against Chris Bosh and fellow Rudos Dojo Graduate, Quicksilver. Excalibur’s motives are unclear as of now. Is he ducking a singles rematch with Bosh? Did he feel Bosh wasn’t up to the challenge, and want to destroy 2 rookies this time? Or does he have some other diabolical sceme up his sleeve? Only Excalibur, and possibly Saul, know for sure.
X-Foundation (“The Professional” Scott Lost & “Funky” Billy Kim) vs. The Ballard Brothers (Shane & Shannon Ballard) – As PWG grows into the 1600 lbs. gorilla the PWG “brass” envisioned, tag teams from all over are clamoring for a defined division. Therefore, Commissioner Paul T is looking to accommodate them with some great match ups! Although these teams have met in the past, this will be the first time they meet with this combination of members (Steve Ballard has long since retired since his first match with the X-Foundation in 1974.) Both teams will be looking to impress Paul T and make a post-victory trip to the pay window.
TARO vs. “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce – Scrap Daddy hates you. Don’t look so surprised. Adam Pearce hates all of the fans, and blames you for his loss in the “Bad Ass Mother 3000” tournament. Since he can’t beat each and every one of you up, he has decided to challenge the man that the fans love the most, TARO. Sickened by the crowd support TARO receives, Adam Pearce has decided to make an example of “the biggest man around, jack” before focusing on the PWG Championship. Will the 375 lbs. behemoth TARO be able to topple Ol’ Scrappy, even with C. Edward Vanderpyle creeping about the ring?
Number 1 Contender Match: “The Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan vs. “Shooting Star” Bobby Quance – Despite injuring his ribs in a brutal Semi-Final match with Super Dragon, Joey Ryan fought until the very end against Frankie Kazarian to be the first ever Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Champion. Joey Ryan would like nothing more than to have a rematch with Kazarian when he is 100%, and Commisoner Paul T would like nothing more than to give him one. But much like when he was a small child, struggling for rice grains in the streets of the valley, Paul T will make The Wizard work for it. Thus, the match has been signed, and Joey Ryan will face Bobby Quance, who will be making his Southern California return after a successful tour of Mexico. Quance, who was one half of the 2002 Southern California Match-Of-The-Year, is no stranger to being a champion, and would like nothing more than to get his hands on the “Sash of Bananas,” the PWG Championship. The winner of this match will be granted first crack at whomever makes it out of “Are You Adequately Prepared To Rock?” as champion!
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. B-Boy & Super Dragon – PWG & Paul T are committed to showcase the best talents from all over the world, and this match is a perfect example. East Coast stalwarts Jay & Mark Briscoe, while both very young, have left an impressive list of fallen opponents in their wake, and are headed to Southern California to increase their reputation. Meanwhile, avid hip-hopper, Paul T, has decided to make this match a bi-costal battle, reminiscent of Biggie & Tupac, pitting sometime partners, oftentimes rivals, B-Boy & Super Dragon against the Bricoes. Paul T was quoted saying “Pray to Jah that this too does not end in murder.”
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Championship Match: “The Future” Frankie Kazarian (c) vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels vs. AJ Styles – After being defeated by Frankie Kazarian in the Semi-Finals of the “Bad Ass Mother 3000,” Christopher Daniels demanded he be made number 1 contender to whomever ultimately won the PWG Championship. With Daniels’ well respected reputation, suave looks, and urbane personality, plus the fact that he defeated Commisoner Paul T’s own client, NOSAWA, in the tournament, it was decided that no other candidate would be more deserving than Daniels. Shortly after making this decision, Paul T was contacted by none other than AJ Styles, who was unable to make the tournament due to prior commitments, but was very interested in adding the PWG title to his Championship Gallery (on display daily at the Georgia State Capitol Building.) Styles said he’s already beaten Kazarian once in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, so he should automatically be made number 1 contender. Paul T decided to grant Styles his request also, and said that after Kazarian won four times in 2 days to become champion, he will once again have his work cut out for him, as he defends the coveted “Sash Of Bananas,” the PWG Championship, against two of the best wrestlers in the world today.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to further delay the release of the PWG Videos/DVDs, for which we apologize. Expect to see them in the very near future.
