Millennium Pro Wrestling (MPW) was founded in 2001 by Paul Ventimiglia (Logan X) along with Barry Cohen and Adrian Montes as co-promoters. MPW held its debut event on March 10, 2001 in West Hills, CA. In 2001, MPW came in second place for the SoCal Promotion Of The Year award and booked the Match Of The Year Award in SoCal between B-Boy and Super Dragon from November 3, 2001, the third place match between Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, and Adam Pearce on March 10, 2001, and the fourth place match between Super Dragon and Low Ki on July 28, 2001.

Original Run: 2001-2002

MPW ran their first show at the Bernard Milken Jewish Community Center in West Hills on March 10, 2001. The main event of saw Frankie Kazarian become the first ever MPW Champion after defeating Christopher Daniels and Adam Pearce in a triple threat match. After the event, Ultimate Pro Wrestling promotion Rick Bassman would give a list of promotions they would be allowed to work for outside of UPW, and MPW was excluded from the list, forcing Frankie Kazarian to be stripped of the title which was later awarded to former Extreme Championship Wrestling wrestler Little Guido, who would go on to lose the title to Cincinnati Red later that night. With a lot of talent not being made available to them, MPW would begin to book top talent from promotions like Revolution Pro and other companies in the Southern California territory, as well as outside talent like Low Ki. With the amount of outside talent and top stars from various promotions being booked, MPW would become the first true all-star promotion in SoCal. MPW would come to a close one year after their debut event for various reasons, including money not being made on live events.
