Some scary shit

Schools Not Teaching Pro-Israel Views To Lose Funding
>
>Congress To Pass 'Ideological Diversity' Legislation
>By Michael Collins Piper
>American Free Press, americanfreepress.net
>4-21-3
>
>Republican members of the Senate are planning to introduce police-state-
>style "thought control" legislation designed to prohibit criticism of
>Israel
>on American college campuses.
>
>The third-ranking Republican member of the U.S. Senate, conservative Rick
>Santorum (Pa.), plans to introduce so-called "ideological diversity"
>legislation that would cut federal funding for thousands of American
>colleges
>and universities if those institutions are found to be permitting
>professors,
>students and student organizations to openly criticize Israel, which
>Santorum
>considers to be an act of "anti-Semitism."
>
>Santorum wants to rewrite the federal funding formula under Title IX of the
>Higher Education Act to include "ideological diversity" as well as sexual
>equality in education as a perquisite for federal funding.
>
>Joining Santorum is another Senate conservative GOP stalwart -- and a
>leading
>pro-Israel ideologue -- Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.) who has his own scheme to
>call for a federal commission -- critics call it a "tribunal" to be
>established under Title IX to "investigate" anti-Semitic incidents on
>American
>campuses.
>
>This is no "conspiracy theory." It's a fact -- but not one that is getting

>In fact, it! was Fir estone's organization, Hillel -- which has units on

>Further details appeared in a circumspect report on April 15 in the small-
>circulation New York Sun, a stridently pro-Israel "neo-conservative" daily
>published in Manhattan.
>
>Hillel told its supporters that Santorum, along with several other members

>the Senate, had invited representatives of a number of powerful Jewish
>organizations to attend a private meeting on Capitol Hill in order to

>The senators in question -- all Republicans -- were: Santorum, Robert

>In addition, Senate Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist (Tenn.), and his

>During the private Senate session -- of which there are no transcripts

Well, just by reading the article it is obviously one-sided and it seems that it's making a big deal of nothing. Nothing like this will ever get passed anyways. There's plenty of bills proposed that are retarded and they don't get even close.

But....

What I don't get is why is anti-Isreali comments automatically anti-semitism? I thought Israel was a country, not a religion. Makes no sense to me.

Because it's easier to call someone a racist then have to actually respond to their points and criticisms.

Holes all over this article...

>>Congress To Pass 'Ideological Diversity' Legislation

How the fuck does this fool know what is going to pass before it goes into the Senate? According to this article, this bill hasn't even gone to the senate for debate to begin with.

>>Sen. Sam Brownback (Kan.) who has his own scheme to call for a federal commission

How the fuck does this reporter know what this guy is schemin?

>>an ADLrepresentative reportedly claimed to the gathering that the ADL's "annual audit" of anti-Semitic activity in America had detected an increase by 24%

reportedly claimed = I am talking out of my ass

This report is as propaganda to the left as any other bullshit spewing to the right. If you can pull 5 other articles regarding this from credible sources, then I will consider giving a shit.

I'm not suprised by this.

And semite's do not represent a religion. They are a group of people (I think representing an ethnicity - could be wrong). Arabs (of all religions) and Jewish people are considered semites. So when someone calls an Arab who speaks against Israel an anti-semite, they show their ignorance.

And Tom is right, people who question Israel's tactics are always attacked as anti-semite. It's a move to try and quiet the critics without having to respond to the topics raised. Just look what happens to any politician who speaks out against Israel. The next day they're either cleaning out their desks or making an apology.

Actually this is a perfect example of taking anything in print and valuing it as true. All it takes is some careful reading and it should send the BS alert in this article right away.

No substance at all. Just a bunch of words.

I totally see your points, but this isn't the first time I've heard about this bill. Lord knows, America would not be afraid to play the fiscal federalism card on schools or anything else. I mean, Bush stole and election and started a war over unfound weapons of mass destruction, and despite protests and dissent, everything has gone on fairly normally in the USA. While I'm not saying this is going to pass, if it did, I think Bush knows he could get away with it.

Considering this is the same Republican (not typically pro-Israel) Senator Rick Santorum who just recently found himself awash in a sea of controversy over the following remark...

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery."

This sounds a lot more like the rantings of a fundamentalist right-wing Christian wacko fucktard. I can't imagine that this guy has a single thing to do with being pro-Israel.

I'll chalk up the original article to the "land of bullshit and saltines."

Santorum, like the majority of everyone in congress is indeed pro-Israeli. He has recieved almost 50,000 dollars of aid last year from AIPAC. If you read many of his speeches regarding the Mid-east you get a real sense of his Pro-Israeli views. He also refuses to recognize the Israeli attack on the U.S.S. Liberty (a while back) which left many Americans dead and wounded. He, like many in congress that get money from AIPAC, are pro-Israeli.

With apologies to Mr. Hill...

Upon further research, this article seems to be 100% accurate.

And I was right, Santorum IS a wacko fucktard.

Since i am unable to edit my own posts, I will add that the facts in the original article, are accurate.

I was not implying that the extremely biased writing tone of the article, was in any way, factual.
