AWA Results

Where were all the San Diego wrestling fans last night? This was a great venue to attend wrestling. Had 3 bars,2 inside and one outside on the patio. Food service with a chef and all kinds of garnish to put on your choice of food. Plenty of safe parking and real large and clean bathrooms. 4 waitress and food served on real plates with cloth napkins. Had 2 belt championship matches and one belt change. Official results will come from promotion. I would like to thank the Hotel owner dressed in the neat white suit and tie who stayed the whole time for providing the bus and tickets for the 30 to 40 wounded warriors who attended. They enjoyed the wrestling. I hope he will let the promotion back even after Kid Carama put his foot prints on the ceiling beam. I hope Duke and Jason Redondo are OK after the over the top rope to the dance floor. I think they should drop the band. Band should have play 7;30 to 8 then again intermission, not get there after 8 and fiddle-fart around till8:30, take 10 minutes to try and play first song because all their wires were off. Why did they have music? The wounded warriors were in wheel chairs and crutches and could not dance. The delay made for a long night for the back room and we left at 11:30 just has the battle was starting. I am sure the promotor worked hard to arrange the show, where were you fans?

Well, I'm sure that was a rhetorical question; I'm sure that the purpose was not to attack anyone. Nevertheless, I feel a need to respond.

As in most things in life, there are choices. And last night I did indeed choose wrestling. Just a different show. I chose to see a wrestler I'd heard about but had never seen before (in person). I chose to see a show that included several San Diego wrestlers not booked in San Diego that night. I chose to see a card that interested me a bit more. I chose to see a show that cost half as much, though I'm sure the extra cost was because of the venue.

None of this is to denigrate (sp?) the promoter(s) of AWA. It's just about personal choice.

Now I must get ready to go to tonight's personal choice in Oceanside.

More thoughts

Here are some more thoughts on getting a crowd out to the matches. The auto racing and motorcycle racing have classes for young kids. Some are only 5 years old. I have seen it in the stands the mothers, sisters, brothers cheering their kids on. I do not like it because i like the pros, but it brings in the paying customers.
