Detailed MPW results from May 29th.

Millennium Pro Wrestling made its return in front of packed house of approximately 350 fans in Chatsworth on May 29th, 2010. The card was action packed from top to bottom and the show featured WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. The results are as follows:

Match # 1: Recca Becca won an inter gender Battle Royal .

She was actually the only women involved in the match and managed to woman handle all the men who were inside the ring. Recca Becca may be the strongest woman in the world and she didn't take long to make an impact in MPW.

B.S. Cohen and "Phenomenal" Phil who are co-owners of Millennium Pro Wrestling entered the ring to greet the fans that had attended. B.S. Cohen made numerous suggestions for different types of matches that ranged from the bizarre to the down right insane. "Phenomenal" Phil eventually sent B.S. Cohen packing from the ring and instructed him that he needed to go find an opponent to wrestle Fan Boy before the night was over. Phil then introduced his long time friend Under Pressure.

Match # 2: Under Pressure defeated The Hobo.

The Hobo had been panhandling in the crowd prior to and during the show. Under Pressure entering the ring an informed the crowd that his scheduled opponent didn't show up. He then issued an open challenge to anyone who had the guts to get in the ring with him. The Hobo accepted but only after Under Pressure offered him some money and 30 nights of paid hotel rooms in Las Vegas. Good back and forth match with Under Pressure getting the pin fall victory.

"In the Fit Pit with Piper".

WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper came to the ring escorted by 2 live bagpipers. Piper entered the ring and thanked the crowd for their attendance. He also talked about how the show was a fund raiser for the Los Angeles Unified School District Police Department's Explorer Scout Program. He then took $20.00 out of his own pocket and threw it in the donation bucket. In the midst of telling some stories about his wrestling career he was interrupted by Cincinnati Red who was escorted to the ring by his manager Tex Tunney and and a kilt wearing Whiskey Macintosh. Tex Tunney informed Piper that he had been watching him for years and was particularly impressed with how Piper ended the Mountie's 2 day Intercontinental title reign. But tonight was not about Piper, tonight was about Cincinnati Red who was going to put his opponent out of a job. Cincinnati Red made reference to how he and Piper were on the highest level that could be obtained in wrestling while Logan X was on the same level as Mr. T. Piper eventually took control of the microphone again and called "Lethal" Logan X to the ring. Logan confronted Red and told him that tonight he was going to finally beat him. Red then slapped Logan which Logan answered by pushing Red. Macintosh and Tunney stopped Red and Logan from starting the match early. As Logan turned to leave the ring Red attacked him. After a series of punches Logan shot Red into the ropes. Logan rolled underneath Red's clothesline. When Red turned around he was greeted with a clothesline but not from Logan, it was from the "Hot Rod". Red rolled out of the ring along with his entourage. All 6 MPW referees kept Red's group out of the ring and Piper and Logan in the ring.

Match # 3: Anchor's Away defeated Kyle Webb and the Amazing Ray.

The Amazing Ray's scheduled partner Austin Morrison failed to show up to compete against Anchor's Away. Rumors began to circulate in the locker room about how Austin Morrison was afraid of Anchor's Away. Kyle Webb agreed to participate in the match but never showed a liking to his new partner. Anchor's Away dominated most of the match with some great double team moves with the Amazing Ray taking most of the punishment. Kyle Webb was impressive but never did manage to get on the same page with his partner. After Anchor's Away pinned the Amazing Ray, he was attacked by Kyle Webb.

Match # 4: Ryan Taylor defeated Joey Ryan to win a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight title on July 31st.

This was the first one on one meeting between these two amazing wrestlers. This was a good back and forth match with each man demonstrating impressive offense. Joey Ryan almost won the match on several occasions but in the end it was Ryan Taylor that walked away with the victory. The win puts Taylor in the main event on July 31st where he can ink his name in wrestling history if he is able to defeat Adam Pearce and become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. With the huge win over Joey Ryan he is going into that match with momentum on his side.

Match # 5: Crayz and Bo Cooper defeated the Ballard Brothers

Crayz and Bo Cooper were escorted to the ring by the lovely Head Nurse Florence NightCall. The Ballards were escorted to the ring by the equally lovely Crystal or as Alfredo Esparza called her, "girl with really nice legs". The Ballards are arguably the best tag team in Southern California wrestling history. Crayz and Bo Cooper are both multi time tag team champions themselves but with different partners. This was a very physical match that appeared to have ended quickly when both team's valets got involved. Bo Cooper requested that the match be restarted under no disqualification rules. The match got even more physical with both teams brawling into the crowd at times. Bo Cooper eventually put Shannon Ballard through a table to get the win. Very hard hitting match which saw both teams receive a standing ovation from the crowd.

Match # 6: GQ Money defeated Scorpio Sky and Disco Machine in a 3 way dance to become the first MPW Maximum Champion.

“Phenomenal Phil”, B.S. Cohen and MPW commishoner was in the ring and announced that the following match between Scorpio Sky and Disco machine would be for the MPW Maximum Championship, and it would be the match which would bring the lineage of the Maximum Championship and return it to the glory it had known when it was part of the UIWA and Tech IX and “Primetime” Peterson feuded over the title all over California. At that time, an incredibly exuberant GQ money, decked out in in very flamboyant attire hit the ring, and asked if he could be a part of this historic match up. Upon discussion between the MPW Executive Committee, it was agreed, that this championship match would become a 3-Way Dance! Sky, Machine and Money started off the ring with all 3-men looking to tie up. Both Disco and Sky tied-up, leaving GQ Money as the odd man out who just sat and watched. After a nice sequence of counters and reversals between Disco and Sky, there was a stand off and again GQ money wanted in on the action... but again, Sky and Machine rejected GQ's involvement in the match and began working each other over. Money was getting frustrated, made his way between the two and pushed them a part. He explained that he didn't get booked to stand around and he wanted in the match. At that time both Sky and machine began an onslaught of vicious knife edged chops. GQ money yelled, screamed and almost cried for the two to stop, saying that he wanted to wrestle, you know grapple, not get hit so much. Sky and Disco agreed, both kicking him in the stomach and sending him off the ropes. money ducked a double clothesline to hit a (Tajiri like) handspring handstand double back elbow, showing his 1st bit of offense in the match. At this point a hard hitting back and forth battle ensued between all three men who each took their chance to inflict pain and dish out punishment to an opponent, only to get caught by the 3rd man. As the match was coming to an end, Disco machine chucked GQ Money out of the ring (presumably to eliminate a breaking up of the count), and after a series of counters, hit Scorpio Sky with his patented Chokeslam Neck breaker. As Disco machine through his arms up in the air to celebrate his dominating move and potential match finisher, GQ Money came flying off the ropes with a Springboard Standing Leg Drop (which he calls a "Slice of Style"), rolled Disco up for the 3, to become the NEW MPW Maximum pro Wrestling Champion!

Match # 7: Fern Owens defeated Hector Canales

Fern Owens takes 1/2 of The Latin Heart Throbs Hector Canales in a brawl that should have been called "Beauty and the Beast. Canales took charge for the first half but when Owens had the opportunity, he attacked Canales’ abdomen area. Even though Canales fought back with speed, agility and high flying moves, Owens proved the hand is quicker then the refs eye when he hooked the bottom rope for the 1-2-3 off the sunset flip attempt by “El Chido” Hector Canales. Owens truly lived up to his title in being Canales beast of burden! Not much is known about Fern Owens as of this point but he impressed a lot of people with his victory over his larger, more experienced opponent.

Match # 8: Bump n’ Grind (Morgan and Nikki The New York Knockout) defeated. Thunder kitty and Amanda

Bump n’ Grind displayed their superior experience as a tag team and dominated most of the action. Thunder Kitty and Amanda put up a good fight but they were overmatched by the tag team continuity of Bump n’ Grind who walked away with the victory. After the match Recca Becca attacked Thunder Kitty and Amanda.
Match # 9: “The Fan Boy” Daniel Murphy defeated “Ecto X” Lucky Pierre
Before the match B.S. Cohen came down to the ring with his dreidel to confront the Fan Boy B.S. Cohen then introduced the only opponent he could find, Lucky Pierre and re-named him Ecto-X after making him wearing a redicioulas shirt. Fanboy then invited several people dressed as various characters from a certain Sci Fi series that included atleast 6 movies down to ringside because of the Cohen's constant interference. Cohen was then joined by the Southern California Ghostbusters, which lead to a Sci-Fi pull apart by all 7 MPW refs. Once the ringside was cleared music played and Ecto-X was attacked by a man dressed in a black suit that included a breathing device who happened to be one of the only characters in all 6 of the movies in that particular series, with a chair. This allowed Fan Boy to get the pin and pick up the victory. B.S. Cohen found himself alone in the ring with the MPW emperor who escorted the man dresse din black to the ring. The MPW emperor removed his mask and his robe revealing himself to be MPW co-owner Phenomenal Phil, who attacked B.S. Cohen and DDT'ed him with his own dredil.

Match # 10: “Lethal” Logan X defeated “Big Hardcore” Cincinnati Red w. Tex Tunney and Whiskey Macintosh in the first hair vs. badge match in wrestling history

Before the match referee Adam Marantz declared the match would be a no count out, no disqualification match as ordered by MPW Commishoner Dan Farren. The logic behind this was that there needed to be a clear cut winner based on the stipulations. Cincinnati Red and Logan X started the match face to face. Red quickly slapped Logan and threw a right hand. Logan ducked and used an arm drag to disorient his much larger opponent. Logan then caught Red with a leg lariet which caused Red to roll out of the ring. Red sought confront from his entourage but was quickly abandoned when Logan hit Red with a cross body block from the top rope to the floor. On the way back into the ring Tex Tunney hung on to Logan’s foot which allowed Red to utilize a properly timed kick to the middle rope which in turn hit Logan in the groin. Red worked on Logan’s leg but lost control of the match again when Logan was able to hit an insagire and then followed it up with a drop kick to the head and then a DDT. Unable to pin Red, Logan climbed to the top rope but was shoved off by Whiskey Macintosh.
Red retrieved a barb wire wrapped baseball bat that he had brought with him to the ring. Macintosh and Tunney held Logan’s arms down while Red used the bat to cut Logan’s head wide open.

Red then dragged Logan to the middle of the ring, climbed to the top rope and landed a picture perfect moonsault onto the very bloody Logan X. Logan would not stay down when Red attempted the pin and kicked out at two and a half. Red then requested that his entourage bring him a table. Logan was placed in the center of the table. By then there were several pools of blood inside of the ring. Red again climbed to the top rope and delivered an elbow drop to the ribcage of Logan. The impact shattered the table. Again Red went for the pin but Logan would not stay down and again kicked out before 3. Red set up another table in the corner. Red attempted to whip Logan into the table but Logan was able to reverse the move and it was Red that end up going through the table. Logan attempted to pin Red but Tex Tunney pulled the referee out of the ring. Tunney and Macintosh then entered the ring and repeatedly stomped on Logan.

This prompted and another appearance by “Rowdy” Roddy Piper who entered the ring with a purpose. He delivered a right hand to Tunney which knocked him out of the ring. He then delivered a right hand to Macintosh who also fell out of the ring. At this point Cincinnati Red had recovered and he attacked Piper who was trying to help Logan X back to his feet. Piper turned to face Red. Piper and Cincinnati Red began to exchange blows with eachother. It appeared that Piper had gotten the better of the exchange until Red thumbed Piper in the eyes. Red again attempted to strike Piper but the WWE Hall of Famer ducked and placed Red in the the sleeper hold. Piper layed Red’s prone body in front of the turn buckles where Logan X was waiting on the top rope. Logan delievered a Swanton Bomb to Red which allowed Logan to get the 1, 2, 3.

After the match Red retrieved a chair from ringside and it appeared that he was not going to comply with the stipulations that were agreed to before the match. Red then placed the chair in the middle of the ring and told Logan to cut his hair. After taking a long look at Red, Logan asked for the microphone. Logan informed the crowd of how Red had trained him to become a professional wrestler in 1998 and out of respect for the man that trained him he could not cut Red’s hair. Red then grabbed the microphone and told Logan that he had earned his respect by beating him and because of that he would honor his promise and get his hair cut. Logan briefly met with Roddy Piper in the corner and again grabbed the microphone. Logan informed the crowd and Red that he couldn’t cut his hair but he knew someone who could. Logan then made reference to Wrestlemania 3 and asked Roddy Piper to cut Red’s hair. The “Hot Rod” was happy to accept and Cincinnati Red became only the third man in history to have his hair cut by Roddy Piper in the ring.

All members of the MPW locker surrounded the ring. Logan, bloody and hurt told Piper to wait before leaving the ring. Logan retrieved and award he had gotten from the United States Congress for Distinguished and Invaluable service to the community that he had received in conjunction with incidents realted to his day job. He then explained how it was the most prestegious award he had received in his career and tonight he wished to give it to his childhood hero. Logan thanked Piper for his 35 years in the wrestling business, thanked him for beating cancer, thanked him for spending 300 days on the road for years and years, thanked him for missing out on tons of time with his family to entertain the fans and also thanked him for making his living in the business where he has to watch many of his brother die years before it’s their time. The entire MPW locker room and the 350 fans in attendance then broke into a “thank you Piper” chant.

Piper then requested the microphone. He explained how the wrestling fans gave him a family and it was he, that wanted to thank everyone else in the arena.
