No More FCW?
From fightnews.com
LA's Olympic Auditorium closes! By Karl Freitag There will be no more fights at the famous Olympic Auditorium on 18th and Grand in Los Angeles. The legendary fight venue has been sold to a Korean-American church group who will rename it the "Glory Vision Center." The building, which was built in 1927 for the 1932 Olympics, has been the location for many fights featuring the sport's greatest legends including Henry Armstrong, Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson, Archie Moore, Emile Griffith, Salvador Sanchez, Bobby Chacon, Danny Lopez, Carlos Palomino, Kid Gavilan, Ike Williams, Mando Ramos, Sugar Ramos and Carlos Ortiz, plus current stars of today like Oscar De La Hoya, Julio Cesar Chavez, Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley to name just a few. The building was once owned by legendary female promoter Aileen Eaton, who staged weekly fights for more than two decades with the help of matchmaker Don "War-a-Week" Chargin. More recently Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions had used the venue. Saturday, August 13 2005
