SoCal Pro Wrestling 2012 Summer Classic Results - NEW Golden State Champion
SoCal Pro Wrestling
2012 Summer Classic Saturday, June 16, 2012 Oceanside Boys & Girls Club Oceanside, CA First Round Match: "Lovin" Nick Lovin defeated SCP Tag Team Champion SoCal Crazy. Going into this match, SoCal Crazy was not 100%, but he was determined to become the first-ever SCP Golden State Champion. However, Nick Lovin had a trick up his sleeve in the form of Tommy Wilson. Nick Lovin distracted and kept Referee Everett Scott away from the ring. As this happened, Mr. Megastar came out from under the ring and superkicked SoCal Crazy, which allowed Nick Lovin to pin 1/2 of the SCP Tag Team Champions in about a minute. First Round Match: Ryan Kidd defeated Joey "The Bone" Barone using a Sunset flip. Joey Barone's undefeated streak in SoCal Pro is now over. First Round Match: "Mirror Image" Ricky Mandel defeated Eddie "Too Hot To Handle" Randle via submission to a Boston crab. First Round Match: Jimmy Ray Walker defeated Johnny Paradise by disqualification. Johnny Paradise was pummeling JRW in the corner and Referee Steve Espinoza tried to intervene but to no avail. Paradise pushed down the referee, which led to the disqualification. Paradise’s onslaught did not stop since he took out Walker with a chair until SoCal Crazy made the save. Non-Tournament Singles Match: “The Polish Tyrant” Andre Machievski defeated Aerial Star with a knockout punch. Semi-Final Match: Ryan Kidd defeated Nick Lovin with a 450 splash. Semi-Final Match: Ricky Mandel received a bye into the Finals of the 2012 Summer Classic because Jimmy Ray Walker could not compete. Two out of Three Falls Match for the SCP Heavyweight Championship: “Mr. Megastar” Tommy Wilson (c) defeated SCP Tag Team Champion Kid Caramba to retain the SCP Heavyweight Title. 1st fall: Kid Caramba defeated Tommy Wilson via submission to an Armbar. 2nd fall: Tommy Wilson defeated Kid Caramba with a Superkick. 3rd fall: Tommy Wilson defeated Kid Caramba after Wilson countered Caramba’s Sunset flip attempt. Final: Ricky Mandel defeated Ryan Kidd, won the 2012 Summer Classic, and became the first-ever SCP Golden State Champion. Tommy Wilson distracted Referee Everett Scott long enough to allow Joey Barone to sneak up on Ryan Kidd and use a "Crash Landing" maneuver, which left Kidd weakened for Mandel's Lifting DDT and the pin. Also, Ricky Mandel is the first-ever Triple Crown Champion in SoCal Pro since he has held every single SCP title. After the match, Joey Barone took off his purple shirt to reveal The Mirror Image Megastars shirt. Kid Caramba, Ryan Kidd, Eddie Randle, Referee Steve Espinoza, and even SoCal Crazy tried to break up the chaos in the ring, but they were taken out by Ricky Mandel, Joey Barone, Tommy Wilson, Nick Lovin, and Johnny Paradise. Paradise challenged SoCal Crazy to an Eight-Man Tag Team Match on Saturday, July 21. It seems to appear that the SoCal Crazy and Johnny Paradise feud is indeed not over. Upcoming SoCal Pro event on Saturday, July 21, 2012 Match already signed: Eight-Man Tag Team Match SoCal Crazy and three partners to be named vs. Johnny Paradise and three partners to be named For more information, please visit www.socalprowrestling.com.
