MPW This Saturday Simi Valley 6/30/12

MPW returns to the Simi Valley Boys and Girls Club on June 30th at 7:00 PM

MAIN EVENT
MPW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

“BRAWLIN” BO COOPER (C) VS. HECTOR CANALES

There is no one in MPW who is on more of a roll than Bo Cooper. Since August of 2011, Cooper has gone undefeated defeating the likes of current MPW Maximum Champion Mario Banks in an anything goes match, former WWE NEXT Veteran Jacob Novak, winning the MPW World Heavyweight Championship from the extremely talented Ryan Taylor who had dominated MPW for over a year before the loss, then successfully defending the title against arch rival Billy Blade, newly signed WWE contracted wrestler Austin Draven and most recently former WWE Superstar Gangrel. Go through that list again. Yes, there are 3 different wrestlers in there that were under contract with the WWE and several top level independent wrestlers in there as well. Cooper’s next opponent isn’t impressed. Not even a little bit. Hector Canales has won his last 4 matches in a row and had the guts to interfere in the champion’s match with Gangrel, punching Cooper in the nuts and causing Gangrel to be disqualified. Canales felt that he was being ignored by MPW Commissioner Dan Farren and decided to cement his way into a World Title match. Canales has since been taunting Cooper through various social media outlets, claiming that Cooper is not in any way the kind of person that should represent MPW as the champion. Cooper’s response has been to train like a beast for this match. Rumor has it that Cooper has not left the gym since this match was signed and has trimmed down over 20 pounds in preparation for the dealing with the cardio of a man as in shape as Canales is.

MPW MAXIMUM TITLE MATCH
HOBO’S JUNGLE RULES IN EFFECT
“MONEY” MARIO BANKS (C ) VS. THE HOBO
Mario has proven himself a man who can pick himself up when things don’t go his way. Mario’s first attempt to win the Maximum title resulted in a pin fall loss to then champion Logan X. Undeterred in his quest for gold, Mario entered the “California Classic” Battle Royal and outlasted 20 other wrestlers to win the match and a second chance at the Maximum title. The wrestler that Mario eliminated last was The Hobo, who mistakenly thought that he had won the match only to be tossed out seconds later by Mario. The “Modern Day Mites” stacked the deck in his favor during the championship rematch where Mario was able to do something that no one in MPW has been able to do since the resurrection of the promotion and that is score a pin fall victory over Logan X to win the Maximum title. A controversial pin fall victory as referee Gordon Flash counted Logan’s shoulder’s down despite evidence that showed Logan’s right shoulder was raised at 2. Regardless, Mario Banks ended Logan’s over one year title reign. Perhaps even more impressive is that Mario managed to retain the title in a 3 way dance against Logan and Sean Christain when Gordon Flash again “fast counted” Christain’s shoulders to the mat. The interesting thing was that Gordon Flash was not even the referee in the match, Erik Milikian was but he was unable to continue after being “accidently” knocked out by Banks. The Hobo has taken a different path into this match. His path is that of hard work, perseverance and the ability to not know when he is in over his head. The Hobo was given a title opportunity after defeating Crayz, who is a 15 year veteran of the sport. The Hobo had Mario right for the pickings and was going to perhaps win the title but in true aristocratic fashion, the champion had a plan. Mario recently recruited Tofer Cash, a pro wrestling rookie and recent graduate of the Ric Drasin Pro Wrestling School, into the Territory Kings. Cash has already showed that his apprenticeship was a good decision as he interjected himself into the match, distracting the Hobo and causing, you guessed it, referee Gordon Flash to count The Hobo out of the ring. Dan Farren has had enough of Banks, Flash, Cash, the Territory Kings, Tex Tunney, Lester Talbot or anyone else involved in the group taking unfair advantages. Farren has granted The Hobo a rematch under “Hobo’s Jungle Rules”. We aren’t even sure what the hell that means but it sounds like Banks couldn’t be more out of his element as the only Jungle banks has been to is the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland where he paid extra money for a private boat.

MPW WORLD TAG TEM TITLE MATCH
THE BAR ROOM SAINTS (C) VS. FERN OWENS AND HED
The Saints are MPW fan favorites and have been since they walked through the doors. How can you not love these guys? They are tough, hard drinking , Irish men who don’t ever back down from a fight. Recently that hard drinking caused some controversial pictures involving the MPW tag belts and a young woman that caused quite a stir in the 909 area code. DK Murphy was suspended for 30 days and was fined $15.00 and stripped of his gold star membership card from Chung Li’s Chinese Food Buffet. This event also caused the emergence of Ryan Morals, head of the organization “Righteous Indignation”. Morals is the polar opposite of the Saints and has declared that he would not rest until he had rid MPW of people of questionable moral values. Morals recruited the masked grapplers Red Thunder and Caveman Wellington to assist him in his cause. Unfortunately for Morals, the Saints along with Sam Chowder were able to defeat his team and thus the Saints go marching on. Fern Owens and Hed recently joined forces after Owens former partner Austin Draven signed a contract with the WWE. Ownes and Hed defeated Those Guys in their tag team debut and MPW Officials see great promise in their future. They have a chance to walk out with tag team gold around their waist and the winner’s portion of the purse on June 30th.

“LETHAL” LOGAN X, THE HELLKID AND THE SPECTRE VS. OMAR “SLAM” DUNCAN, “WHISKEY FISTS” MACHINTOSH AND TOFER CASH
Last show saw Logan X survive 2 matches in a row against Omar Duncan and Tofer Cash to win an opportunity to get Tex Tunney into the ring in a Simi Valley Street Fight. Tex was caned and ultimately put through a table by Logan. Tunney has been in the hospital since then. Lestor Talbot has assumed the running of the day to day operations involving the Territory Kings. Logan requested this match as a way to “finish off the Territory Kings” who he feels are a snake without a head right now. Logan has recruited 2 former members of the Kings to assist him in his cause, The Spectre, who would not eliminate himself so that Banks could win the California Classic Battle Royal and former Maximum Champion, the Hellkid, who won the second annual Zoogz Rift Memorial 8 man tag elimination match to win a shot anytime during the next year at the MPW World Heavyweight Championship. Omar and Whiskey recently lost the tag team titles to the Bar Room Saints, which caused Whiskey Fists to take a vacation to the motherland of Scotland in the pursuit of spiritual tranquility and a whole bunch of booze. Tofer Cash is new to pro wrestling and although he has already shown he has tremendous in ring talent, his lack of experience may present a weakness that the veterans on the opposing team may exploit.

RYAN MORALS VS. SAM CHOWDER
Morals is a man not easily deterred and even after his team lost to the Saints and Sam chowder last show, he is still dedicated to his mission to cleanse MPW. Disappointed with his masked tag team’s inability to get the job done, Morals has decided to take matters into his own hands and take on Chowder one on one. Will this be the first step in the destruction of the Saints?

THOSE GUYS VS. “THE SHOGUN OF SIMI VALLEY” JIMMY MAYHEM AND RAY TANAKA
Furious George suffered a 4 inch long laceration to the top of his head that required 10 staples to close when Crayz hit him in the head with a loli pop that was rumored to be made out of carbonite. Crayz was suspended by MPW commissioner for using the foreign object which caused a corporal injury to another wrestler. Those Guys want revenge against Crayz, as well as the other Architects of Anarchy, Vandel Drummond and Frankie D. This will not be possible this show as both Frankie and Vandel have refused to wrestle on this show while Crayz is suspended. Thus Those Guys need different opponents for this show. Enter Ray Tanaka and Jimmy Mayhem who have been in search of their first win in MPW.


J.J. STEELE VS. BRETT WALTERS
Millennium Pro Wrestling opened up a wrestling school earlier this year. The first student to set foot in the ring at Bump University was 18 year old Brett Walters. Walters has shown his dedication to the ring by breaking his neck in training and has been paying his dues as a ringside camera man since 2011. Walters has earned the right to set foot in the ring with Bump U’s head trainer, former OVW wrestle J.J. Steele. Walters is giving up a lot of experience, strength, wrestling skill, life experience, street smarts, etc. etc. Despite all that Walters is willing to risk life and limb against his trainer who incidentally is one of the most technically gifted wrestlers in MPW. Does Walters have a chance to actually win this match? NO! Probably not. It’d be like tiny Boxswana defeating the great Ottoman Empire. However, a quote from Theodore Roosevelt seems appropriate, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.”

MPW Results ‎6-30-12

MPW returned to the Simi Valley Boy's and Girls Club with over 200 screaming Loud Fans here are the results!

1. Ryan Morals pinned Sam Chowder using the ropes.

2. JJ Steel beat Brett "Maybe" Walters by KO in Brett's pro debut.

3. Jimmy Mayhem beat Roger Ruiz

4. Logan X & Hellkid & Spectre beat the Territory Kings (Whiskey Fist
MacIntosh & Omar Slam Duncan & Tofer Cash). Afterwards the Kings
Blamed Whiskey for the loss and attacked him.

5. Hobo defeated Mario Banks in a Hobo Jungle Match to win the
Max title.

6. Nikki the NY Knockout beat Scatman Negro of the Masked Marauders.

7. Mr.Tanaka pinned Frankie Destruction Dee after blinding him with
green mist.

8. The Bar Room Saints lost by count out in their MPW World Tag
Title defense against Fern Owens & Hed. The Saints retain the titles.

9. Brawlin' Bo Cooper defeated Hector Canales to retain the MPW World
Title. After the match, Cooper was attacked by a mysterious man in
black who tried to injure Bo and took the title belt. The man revealed
himself to be HELLKID! Cooper challenged Hellkid to a Simi
Valley Street Fight for the title on August 4th.
