Viacom is in the process of purchasing KCAL (Ch. 9 in Los Angeles) for $600 million to switch it to the UPN affiliation from the current KCOP (Ch. 13). KCAL is the home for both the Lakers and Clippers while KCOP is the home of the Dodgers, so in either case, there will be occasional sports pre-emptions of Smackdown.
