Who are the top rookies in each fed this year? I consider a rookie someone that debuted in August or later of 2001.
UPW: Pure Talent....???? Who else?
XPW: Leroy....
RevPro: El Negro Blanco Jr, Danny Le, ....? Who else?
MPW: The Kriss Kross kids and their hot feud with Phenominal Phil...
EWF: ?????
WPW: Some ex SCWAers???
Everyone and their mother: aid me in my quest to find the top rookies in each fed. Tell me tell me tell me!

That's it, I'm gonna wrestle, just once, and only once, I wouldn't want to put you all through more pain than I have to, but I will do it once just to be nominated!

What about Joey Ryan! Also by the way Pure Talent sucks! He needs to really work on his body and overall ability in the ring.
Pure Talent and Catastrophe do suck. They both need to work on their bodies and gimmicks. I was at the lite show a couple weeks ago, and they actually had a decent match with G.A.Y., probably the best match I had ever seen them work, but it's weird, theyve been training i think for a year or so, and they're still so bad.

For this years Rookies; from UPW, I like Lil' Nate and Scott Young. From XPW, Leroy right now. I guess El Negro Blanco Jr and Danny Le from RevPro. I don't know about MPW. From EWF, I like Liger Rivera, and I've never been to a WPW show, so I don't know.
It is still early though, so a lot of new comers could pop up. And guys like Pure Talent and Catastrophe could start to come into their own later in the year.
By the way The Game, Joey Ryan was a rookie last year in 2001. In fact, I remember seeing that guy at EWF shows in like October/November of 2000.

XXXtreme I also agree with you that UPW's Scott Young should be considered for "Rookie of the Year". He seems to have caught on real well. He will definitly become a major player in the next few months if he starts wrestling in other promotions besides UPW. Especially if he starts working in MPW and RevPro!

To be a rookie you have to have at least one match. And matches on trampolines don't count!

I would consider the CWA guys rookies too.
In case you guys are wondering, "who the heck are the CWA guys?", their more popular name on this board would be the "Playstation" wrestlers.
If they start to work alot more in the major SoCal territories rather than their home turf of Santa Maria, they could get more exposure, and work on becoming better wrestlers in the ring in front of a wider variety of fans.

RevPro
Danny Le: didn't appear ready in his first match in San Bernadino. Looked hesitant and lost at times. For a guy that brags about his martial arts background, didn't put it to very good use. Bumped sloppily, landing on his ass on backbumps. Has a poor reputation on the net so will have to be that much better to reverse those feelings. Definitely has the work ethic and desire to improve, we'll see how he is at the end of the year.
El Negro Blanco Jr.: presumably will get a different gimmick at some point. Last time I saw him wrestle he was very hestitant and sloppy. Not sure how well he did at the recent , heard generally positive reviews, but he's still very green, obviously.
Some of the former SCWA guys will likely debut this year, I guess. One can only hope Lexa Powers and Gordon Schumway debut as well.
Last year RevPro had Shogun jump out as the immediate SoCal Rookie of the Year favorite, and he kept that distinction until about 2/3 of the way through when he stopped working as much, and Pinoy Boy leapt past him. Neither Blanco Jr. or Danny Le strike me as anywhere near as good as Shogun was when he debuted.
MPW
No rookies.
EWF
Liger Rivera: is he a rookie? WHen did he debut? If he debuted before August'01, then I don't consider him a ROTY candidate for 2002. If he is a true rookie, he may be the best out there. The best I've seen. I only saw him once at CPW, but he was pretty slick and had some decent spots. He didn't have any charisma, but he could improve on that in time. He's my frontrunner for ROTY if he is indeed a rookie.
UPW
Pure Talent: never seen him. Been giving himself tons of pub on the net, though.
Catastrophe: ditto, minus the pub.
Lil Nate: never seen.
Scott Young: never seen, but he's getting good reviews.
XPW
Leroy: totally awful. It says something about XPW's school and Dynamite D's training ability that Leroy is so sorry. Leroy trained there for well over a year, and got to wrestle his trainer on an XPW show, and put up a DUD of a match, one of the worst of the year, apparently.
WPW
Ex-SCWAers: Quicksilver, Kris Kage, whomever it is that's been working there, I can't remember their names. They've trained at WPW and RevPro long enough that it isn't fair to call them backyarders anymore. Maybe they suck, but they aren't backyarders.
Are their any good lucha prospects coming out of the WPW school?
CWA
????: totally unfamiliar with the fed and the guys in it. Scrub says they show potential. I don't think I'll ever go to Santa Maria to watch a CWA show, so hopefully some of these guys continue wrestling in WPW or get shots in RevPro or something, so I can check them out.
And that's my opinion on the rookies.

Best I have seen right now is Scott Young. However, like I stated earlier, I might wrestle one match just to be considered for a nomination. I was thinking a good opponent would be Adam Marantz if I could punk him out of retirement, just like I punked him into retirement!!!! just kidding Adam, please don't go boyish on me!!!!!
paid for by citizens for "The Adam Marantz comeback fund"
But Jason... Adam Marantz DID wrestle a match in 2001. (The IWC 11 hour Strawberry Festival show, I believe). So you gotta do twice as good! TWO matches, maybe!

No Rev, Me wrestling two matches would be twice as BAD! I would quit while I am ahead....

As you can see, I am a CWA fan. And I believe that the rookie for the CWA is Kris Kage. He is one tuff son of a b*tch. For those who have not seen him wrestle, you are missing out. He can do the biggest and the most crazy moves I have ever seen. He does the Five Star Frog Splash that even RVD himself would be shocked. He is an inspiration to the whole wrestling scene in general. In the CWA, I would definatly rate Kris Kage as Rookie of the year.
