Tons of great spots in Dragon vs Joey but the one that people will talk about was the duff drop to the outside that sent Dragon into convultions.

Man, what a fuckin' show. Some thoughts:

-Stradlin/Kid was a solid opener.

-Puma/Topgun was also solid.

-Tag match was awesome. Tied for my 2nd best match on the card.

-Reyes/Kazarian was also awesome. Ending sequences was crazy and that Piledriver was sick.

-CHIKARA match was funtastic. Although not as good as other ones I have seen, still funtastic.

-Ryan/SD, MATCH OF THE FUCKIN' YEAR. It had everything; mat wrestling, sick bumps, psychology, etc. Just fuckin' amazing. Final was 5-4, in favor of SD and went around 10 minutes for Sudden Death. Some things worth mentioning:

-SD Curbstomping Joey on the FLOOR and then throwing him into the ring and delivering a top rope footstomp to score a pin.

-SD doing the Flair strut.

-SD suplexing Joey to the outside.

-Joey fuckin' killing SD with a top rope Duff Drop to the outside.

-SD hitting a fuckin Psychodriver on the outside and then scoring the final pin.

There was probably some other good shit but I'm blanking out right now. THANK YOU, PWG!

The show was pretty awesome. The crowd seemed to be very into it the whole way through, with the exception of the CHIKARA match.

Notes from the show:
-UK Kid is the greatest heel ever.

-Puma Vs Topgun was good, but the random screaming about cocaine towards Topgun, seemed to really defer from the match.

-The tag match was pretty awesome in itself. If it wasn't for the epic in the main event, this would've definately been the match of the night. I didn't see a few spots in the match, because AxP's valet's ass was in the way.

-I thought the title match was going to be better, but it was definately a solid match.

-CHIKARA seemed really underwhelming. The only two parts of the entire match that I remember was a german off the top rope, and someone behind me yelling "Puzzleman" at Jigsaw, which was freaking hilarious. Quackenbush was obviously the standout of the six.

-TWO Doublestomps off the top rope onto the face from Super Dragon to Joey Ryan. This match was amazing. The Duff Drop to the outside was SICK. Super Dragon landed directly on the back of his neck. I thought he was dead for three minutes. The Psycho Driver onto the floor for the win was really sick as well. I was lucky enough to be sitting directly next to the action. The curbstomp onto the floor was pretty sick too. The thud from Joey's head was pretty loud. The first twenty or thirty minutes or so was filled with noteworthy chain wrestling, and someone spilling diet coke all over the place.

I'll do some longer thoughts later but here's some really quick thoughts:

UK Kid Vs. Stradlin - Top Gun Vs. PUMA were very solid.

AXP Vs. Arrogance (Lost/Bosh) was a hell of alot of fun. Really good match (I counted 8 backbreakers BTW) Babi Slymm runs in after a ref bump and ends up spearing Bosh... causing the DQ. Lost/Bosh Vs. Slymm/?? wa signed for next show.

Frankie Vs. Reyes was another very fun match. Frankie finally put Reyes away after 3 Wave of the future's

Chikara match was alot of fun, not probably not their best work. Is just me or did Larry Sweeny look like MIKEY from The Goonies?

SD Vs. Joey Ryan... move over AD Vs. Joe and AD Vs. Romero, we have a new SoCal match of the year! Holy freaking christ... too much great stuff to mention, Curb Stomp on the floor, An utter amazing Duff Drop to the floor (Yes it ALOT SICKER than the BAM3K one) The Psycho Driver on the floor.

But the true sign of how great this match was, is that the hour flew by like nothing. Amazing, best Iron Man match ever and my choice for MOTY. I think this one will finally shut up all those sucka "experts" out there, who like to doubt Super Dragon and Joey Ryan....

Nothing was announced about the next show (no "Next Show" dvd either)

Overall, very good show with an amazing main event.

The main event has to be the best PWG match hands down. One of the things I liked about it was that it had a story behind it and Dragon and Joey have worked together so many times and it helped establish some meening behind it unlike many other long matches from east coast promotions which seem to be more of a "Throw two guys the smarks will love and will sell tapes" esque match. Plus Dragon taking requests and the Ode' To Flair was pure gold. I'll write more about the show later on.

Going into this show I had serious questions as to whether or not the so cal fans would be able to endure a 60 minute match.When I arrived at ten till to find only 20 people in line I became really worried.Luckily a pretty good rush of fans came late to make it a decent sized crowd.The crowd was also as good as any i've seen in PWG outside of "The Reason For The Season".They were hot and kept up the heat for just about every match.Great showing from the fans who were there.(Although i'm sure someone will have an issue with how the fans acted.) :rolleyes:
UK Kid vs Tony Stradlin
The opener was pretty solid. U.K. Kid did a great job working the crowd on the mic.He is pretty quick when it comes to the give and take with the fans.He is very entertaining in that aspect.Stradlin got a nice reaction for his return.As far as the match goes it was almost all Stradlin with U.K. Kid doing a lot of running.As he does in just about every match.He spent as much time doing promos or running out of the ring as he did wrestling.This is one of the things I dont really care for when it comes to the U.K Kid.He spends way to much time stalling and running and not enough time wrestling.In a 10 minute U.K. Kid match your lucky if you see 4 minutes of actual wrestling.This has been the case in every match of his i've seen from him.This match was no different.U.K. Kid did get the win by by pinfall but was pretty much carried during this match by Stradlin.It was still a solid fun opener.Props to PWG for bringing back Stradlin.He is a great addition to the PWG roster.

Topgun vs Puma
I wasn't sure what to expect from this match going in.There is quite a difference in styles between these two workers.The first 5 minutes of this match was nothing short of a trainwreck imo.Both guys seemed to be having real problems working with the others style.Then somewhere about 2/3rds of the way into the match things suddenly started clicking.From this point on the match went from being a mess to becoming a decent match.The last 5 minutes of this match really saved it.There were a ton of cocaine jokes during this whole match.None of which were funny by the way.Just annoying.Finish saw Puma get the win by submission.This match was so-so.First half really bad and second half really solid.

AXP vs Bosh/Lost
Now this is where the show really gets cooking.Bosh and Lost come out and announce that they will now be called"Arrongence."AXP come out to a great crowd reaction.So Cal fans love these guys.Myself included.How can you not?The match was really good.If not for the main this would have been match of the night.Great showing here from both teams.The team of Bosh and Lost are really impressing the hell out of me.To say both guys have taken it to the next level this year would be a huge understatement.The two most improved workers in so cal this year imo.AXP were great as usual.These two just ooze charisma.Truth be told all for guys in this match are blessed with charisma overload.Not only do they work great matches but they tell a story and keep it entertaining as they go along.Perfect example is Bosh starting his own Chris Bosh chant.Its those little things that all four guys bring to the table that make them 4 of so cals best as far as im concerned.Lost and Bosh are both doing a great job playing the underdog/heel roles.They give the impression that they could lose at anytime or at least that there is a possibility of them losing.This is key to a great heel tag team imo.Scott Lost is really showing some incredible mic skills as a heel.The match saw AXP in control for the most part with Lost taking most of the punishment.Towards the end of the match Slymm came to the ring and attempted to spear one of the AXP only to miss and take out Bosh.Lost complains to Slymm about it and gets a spear of his own.This was a nice touch playing up the angle from the last show in which Lost chose Bosh over Slymm as his tag partner.I dont remember the finish other than Bosh and Lost winning.Really great match.All four guys were incredible.Within a year from now the whole indy world will know who these four men are.Second best match of the show easily.This would have been motn on most shows in the country.PWG however,isnt your average fed.The main event would blow this out of the water.

Kazarian vs Reyes
This match didnt make a ton of sense to me.I just didn't see why Ricky was getting a title shot with very few singles victories in PWG.Hell even Puma would be more worthy of the shot due to his win-loss record in PWG.Anyhow onto the match.This was a pretty solid match.Nothing really amazing but nothing bad either.Just a solid match that gave both guys chances to show their stuff.Frankie of course got the win by pinfall.Frankie is much more suited to the heel than face role imo.He has really impressed me with how well he taken to being the bad guy.He does a really good job on the mic during his heel promos and gets the crowd all worked up.I much prefer Frankie as a heel.

Sweeney,Jigsaw,and Hallowicked vs Quackenbush,Grand Acuma,and Icarus
This match was a waste of fly-in money imo.I wasnt impressed at all by the Chikara guys.First off, half of the stuff they do is stolen from so cal rings.Secondly, we have tons of local guys who would have done a better job doing the same style match.The regular PWG openers blow these guys away.There were a couple of fun spots during the match but it wasnt enough to hold this match together.The whole match made me realize how bad these guys are biting the Rev Pro style and trying to call it their own.I just really was not into this match at all.Truth be told nobody really was.By far the least crowd reaction to any match on the card.Don't remember who got the win and don't really care.This match further goes to prove how overrated most everything that comes from the east coast is.This same match at a CZW show would earn high praise from the crowd.In so cal its what we call a stinker.Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Super Dragon vs Joey Ryan
Like I said at the beginning of this review I had very serious doubts as to whether or not a so cal crowd could stay involved in a one hour match.I should have never doubted the PWG fans.They were more into this match than just about any match PWG has done to date.With the match we were given it would be hard for a fan to not stay involved.This was the best match in PWG history.There was so much good throughout this match I dont know where to begin.Dragon controlled Joey for a good portion of the first half hour.Dragon gets the first pinfall about twenty-five minutes into the match.Dragon was not acting as himself for a good portion of this match.He spent a bunch of the time in this match actually playing up to the crowd and believe it or not taking move requests from the fans.He even broke out a hilarious "nature boy" strut during the match.At one point dragon is up 3 pinfalls to none.At this point Dragon starts acting cocky and Joey starts making his huge comeback.Joey then is able to come back with 3 straight pinfalls of his own to even the match up at 3 a peice.There were so many sick bumps and moves I wont even try to mention them all.I will say the "Duff Drop" on Dragon to the floor was one of the worst bumps ive seen in my 200+ shows as a fan.His impact on the floor was just plain sick.He started having convulsions for a few minutes while lying on the floor trying to recover from the bump.The way his arm was twitching I think he may have broken his collerbone or maybe something worse.Our whole section starting yelling for the match to be stopped.It had me very worried watching him on the floor in such obvious pain.So much so I spent half the night after I went home worrying about his well being.I am praying for his quick recovery and that the injuries weren't as bad as they appeared.Joey really showed me something in this ironman match.He was able to hang from start to finish as if he were working a 20 minute match.Incredible work by both guys.A great finish to an awesome fued.Post match the fans gave a ten minute standing ovation to both wrestlers.Made me proud to be a so cal fan to see the love and respect that the fans were showing these two gladiators. I would personally like to thank both Joey and Super Dragon for the amazing display of heart and courage that they delivered to the fans.One of the best matches I have ever seen either live or on tape.Greatest match this year that I have seen without question.It just doesn't get any better than this match at the indy level.

Seriously, that Iron Man match was amazing. The more time goes by and the more time I have to think about it...the better it gets.

The only thing that I thought would make this match bad was that the hour would drag on. IT DIDN'T at all. That hour flew by real quick. The match was really entertaining the whole hour plus. Especially Super Dragon taking requests (Now, bite his ear!). I told my Dad about Super Dragon busting out the Flair strut (No hair, no Flair!) and my Dad asked if Super Dragon was drunk.

And like a fellow SoCal fan stated towards the end of the match "Super Dragon, you are the man!".

What was pretty cool is that they played, in my opinion, off the Boston-New York series. When Dragon was up 3-0 and Joey started his comeback, I turned to True Fan and said "They are busting a Red Sox-Yankees. Except that the Yankees are still gonna win in this one."

I cannot wait for the DVD of this show to be released so we can see how great the Iron Man match will come out on DVD, because it will look incredible. Especially the Duff Drop to the outside spot, and the Curb Stomp to the outside.

I've heard rumors about both Dragon and Joey getting banged up during the match so I just wanted to say that I hope they are at least in half-way decent health and congratulations to them both for putting on such a spectacle.
