Keep this one at the top. With all the bullshit that goes on around the scene, this is an example of all the boys pulling together to help one of their own. This show is another reason I love wrestling, and will continue to do so. Gonzo wa getting better in the ring, and who knows how he would have done if not for this tragedy. God bless you, Mike, and you're in my prayers. I'll buy a ticket and support the cause.

First off, thank you to everyone for all your support. We have recieve a tremendous outpouring of people who want to help at and be at the show. Flyers and Messageboards are great tools, but please help out with word of mouth if you can. Tell a friend, and bring a friend!
New Talent added to the show;
Devon Willis
Eric Matlock
Jack Bull
Referees: Rick Knox & Steve Daulton Jr.
Ring Announcer: Jon Ian
Look for a full list of wrestlers and a card up at the beginning of next week. Like I said before, the response has been tremendous. Once we work out all the details, we'll let you know. As of right now, we're looking at 9 big matches and a huge battle royale!

So who is the ring announcer? Jon Ian or Rev? My vote goes for that Phillipno kid who announces the light shows for UPW. He deserves his day in the spotlight. Also, he won a battle royale when Spanky was the booker.

I'll buy an extra ticket to this show if you don't let Steve Daulton Jr. anywhere near the ring.

The answer is... currently, both. What'd be really cool is if we can get Francis (UPW Lite Shows) & Trav (Revolution Pro) as well. Then have us all switch off or something.

If the people in charge were cool with it, I wouldn't mind doing a little announcing. I think it would be cool to kinda swtich off. A very good idea Rev I must say.

I can't make it to the show,however,I'd still like to contribute? Is there an address I can send a money order to? Also,whom should I make it out to?
I notice SCU website remove Samoa Joe from 4/27 WPW list. I think he is work Zero-One next day.

First off, Due to his Japan bookings, Samoa Joe will be unable to attend the show, although Joe sends his support and best wishes for Gonzo. However, we have been told Frankie Kazarian's Japan dates has been pushed back, and he will be at the show on the 27th.
Expect a full card to be posted by Wednesday, with some surprises being added to the card!!

I may have spoken too soon. Although the info I recieved was that Samoa Joe was the only one in Japan the weekend of the 27th, Frankie Kazarian's website would state otherwise. We're still looking for confirmation from Frankie himself, but when the card is released, if Frankie is not on it, that will be the reason. Even if he can't make it, we will still have a solid card for a great cause! Sorry for any confusion.

**Note: Unfortunitly, we still do not know if Frankie Kazarian's Japan dates are the weekend of 4/27 or the weekend of 5/4 but we left him on the card or now, and if things should change a suitable replacement will be found and we will notify you asap.**

From what I understand, the promoters are trying to raise even more money for Gonzo in the form of selling raffle tickets and they are in need of items to raffle. I have talked my local pizza place into donating some gift certificates, and I myself will be donating a box full of videos , games, and assorted wrestling related swag to be given away as a prize in the raffle. I Included an original video of Bash at the Beach(where Hogan made the heel turn), as well as an Andre vio, a Ventura bio, and a copy of Wrestlepalooza 97. There is also a lot of wrestling odds and ends in the box, as well as some other videos. Anybody got anything to throw in the pot for a super dooper cause?

I can throw in some tapes. Just let me know now, so I can go ahead and start dubbing them.

My best guess is for people who want to donate stuff is to bring it to the show, and ask Martin (or one of his 3,467 kids) who's in charge of the raffle.

So, what tapes would EVERYONE be interested in having in the raffle? East coast indies? KOI? Puroresu? Joshi? Lucha? Memphis? ECW? WCW? WWF? Suggestions would be appreciated. The more demand for the prize/tape, the more raffle tickets would be sold, which means more money for the cause. And that's the goal that we're aiming for.

I too am going to donate to this raffle. I am going to donate my WWF magazine I had signed by Lita from when her and the Hardyz were at UPW. I hope this helps out too.

I'm far from an expert, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the wrestlers will probably wrestling. Maybe an outside chance of taking polaroids and signing autographs. I hope this clears up anyone's confusion.
I'm gonna be giving a virtual crapload of WWF vids. (Including most of the Wrestlemanias) master copies, no dubs.

Here are some notes on the Gonzo show for Saturday;
Several great items will be raffled off including wrestling merchandise, wrestling videos, gift certificates, Disneyland/CA Adventure tickets, Angels baseball tickets.
Also, Christopher Daniels has donated an autographed match worn singlet, t-shirt, and video showing him wearing said items to auction off.
There will be a "chopping line" where volunteers from the crowd come into the ring, and for every dollar donated by the fans, the volunteer will have to take that many chops from a wrestler or wrestlers. SoCalFrancize and Worlds Biggest Mark are rumored to have already volunteered.
Look for a story on the show on UPN to follow Smackdown, as well as press from the OC Register, OC Times, OC Weekly, PWI, and 1Wrestling.com.
Sonicfish fill be taping the event for future sale.
Tapes and t-shirts commemorating the event will be available through a website that will soon be up, www.forgonzo.com. Site is being built by WebKat.
Representatives of the O.C. Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be in attendance. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has provided information on how Gonzo can receive $500 in medical reimbursement.
Food and drinks will be available for sale. For sure pizza and soft drinks, possibly burgers too. Pizza will be provided by What A Lot A Pizza.
Adelphia Communications will be helping promote the event, and MAY possibly broadcast it live on cable access, nothing definate yet.
There are some changes to the card, due to some wrestlers needing to arrive later from other shows, some needed to leave early to head off to other shows, and some having to cancel due to other commitments. The updated card is as follows;
Mikey Henderson, B-Boy & Super Dragon VS. Hardkore Kidd, Smelly & Pinoy Boy
CWA Championship Match:
Supa Badd (champion - and Gonzo's "Cruel Intentions" Tag Team Partner) VS. Black Metal (challenger)
Lil' Cholo, Silver Tyger & R2K VS. El Genio, Super Arana & Infernal
G.A.Y. & King Favi VS. Under Pressure, Lucky & The Phenom
Battle Royal for the #1 contender for Joey Ryan's WPW Hardcore Championship (Over the Top Rope elimination);
C-4, Catastrophe, Cody Crow, Cyberspace, Jason McCord, Jin Hiryu, Johnny Starr, Jon Jon The Phenomenon, Lil' Nate, Mace, Masked Gringo, Mini-Catastrophe, Murphy McDermott, Pure Talent, Ruckus, Ryan McBain, Scott Young, Sean Riddick, Simon, Skulu, Stryker, Tommy Wilson, Top Gun Talwar, Vinny Reno & Westside G

Scott Lost, Funky Billy Kim & Marshall Knox VS. Al Katrazz, Jack Bull & Kid Vicious (w/ The Big Schwag)

If anything else comes up, I will post a.s.a.p.

It might be worth noting that Rev and Jon Ian will be sharing the announcing duties, and Rick Knox, David Lowe, Steve Daulon Jr, and possibly Jason McCord (if we can get him to take time away from preparing himself for the battle royale) will be reffing the show.
greetings to everyone. I wish old Chip good be there to show support for a fellow worker. I remember seeing mike at the old UIWA dojo and then later on over at UPW. Mike always carries himself with dignity and was/is a worthy opponent in the ring. Now that i am living in Sacramento I can say that this kind of support between the workers and fans is a prime example of why SOCAL is and always will be the best place to work in California.:)
