A nice pick-up by Dodgers, even though Ricky is 44 now. They plan on give him 2 or 3 starts a week as the lead-off hitter. They still need one more good bat though.

I always liked the reason Ricky gave once to his manager forwanting to take a game off. Ricky's reason- "I am mentally unable to perform."

They also traded 3 minor leaguers for Jeromy Burnitz, the type of guy who fits the mold of the consistant player who comes to the Dodgers to suck.

Did anyone see Gagne blow the All Star Game tonight? If the Dodgers make it to the World Series, they better hope it's against Anaheim. That's their only chance at home field advantage now.

This is all sad, because I bleed Dodger blue.

Dodgers aren't going to the World Series, no need to worry about that.

Rickey henderson gots to do what's best for Rickey Henderson. Theere was a hilarious article about Henderson a few months ago in SI.

Man, like Ricky is gonna do shit for the Dodgers. Ricky is all about the stats and that's the only reason he came back. There's still a few records he's close to and he won't retire for good until he gets them. He'll probably finish the season though with a higher batting average than Beltre! OH!

Dude. My 9yr old son finished his season with a higher batting average then Beltre. Maybe now that we got henderson we can go and do some damage in the seniors league. maybe we should go ahead and get fernando out of radio and put him on the mound to relieve Ashby. Maybe we can go ahead and trade Green for Stevee Garvey and get rid of Jordan for Ron Cey. While we're at why dont we just get Jackie Robinson in the 3, 4, or 5 position? Why dont I just trade my Season tickets for some WNBA tickets. Atleast I'll get my moneys worth from those bitches. if there is a god then the Dodgers will soon be the sister team to the Bucs. RACK ME!

Shut the fuck up Lazie, no one asked you for your fucking opinion.

I doubt Beltre is around next year. The only reason they kept him around- is their history of trading away good young players. Including one of the top 5 worst trades / draft picks in the history of pro sports. Pedro Martinez straight-up for Delino DeShields.

Brunitz should help. He is batting .274 with 18 home-runs this year, and he missed a month with a broken bone in his hand. Even though GM Dan Evans said they didn't hurt their top core of minor league propects with the trade. They gave Mets an infielder from AA who was a two-time minor league batting champion, and someone the Mets think can be up in the bigs next year. A 23-year-old pitcher with a mid-90s fastball. And a 20-year-old pitcher who was 5-2 with 2.93 era at the lower levels of the mimors this year.

The Futures Game was on the other day. The Dodgers have a big-time outfield prospet who played in the game who has a big-time bat and is only 20-years-old, and a high-ceiling pitcher who was in the game. Peter Gammons said the Dodgers are loaded with propects from AA on down.

But they did give-up 3 potential prospects for Brunitz. Mets are also covering half of Brunitz's salary for the rest of this season.

Okay Goodfellas, nice one. Ooh, you told me off with a line from a movie, wow, you really are cool.. even though you're like 40 and still act like you're 17. Go try out for Danzig again, maybe you'll last longer than a week this time.

I still think Burnitz will just suck as a Dodger. That seems to be the trend for all the consistant players who come to LA.

Also, all of our best AAA hitters have sucked dick in the big league so far. Of course, it helps that the Dodgers minor league is in Alberquerqe (I spelled that SO wrong), where the ball carries a mile because of the winds. The Dodgers pitching is so loaded, in both the majors and minors, that I'm actually glad we're giving them away for hitters.

Franco, why would Lazie try out for Danzig when he's in a perfectly good Danzig cover band with a midget lead singer (the midgit isn't too much shorter than Glenn). I hear they do a bitchin' rendition of "Mother" and an absolutely haunting "Hollywood Babylon." Cal goes to every show.

I am hoping Brunitz is another Kirk Gibson, and not another Strawberry- the last former Mets left-handed power hitter the Dodgers brought in.

Damn- I keep spelling Burnitz's name wrong.

This is the last time I will waste my time replying to you. act like I'm 40 and not 17? Uh ok You got me there. Go tryout again and last for more then a week? Thats just to lame to even reply to.

You should take some notes from lonnie. He may be big and dumb but atleast he's funny.

Big and dumb? At least I'm big. It's not my fault you had to put the midget on your shoulders while he sang "WHO CAME ALLLLLLONG FOR THE RIIIIDE?"

I didnt know Franco Unamerican was being serious in his smack talk. It looks like we have a nice smack off going right here on the boards.

Speaking of Rome type shit, my friend Jeremy had his email read on Rome this week. It was something like

"Dear Rome,
Kobe Bryant has nothing to worry about. The Colorado law enforcement is great at solving things in a professional and timely manner,

Signed,
Jean Binet"

Ricky was 2 for 3 tonight before being switched by Tracy in the 7th for defensive purposes, including a home run. Even though Burnitz made an error that let a run score, he drove in two tonight. McGriff is back Sunday. Brown pitches tomorrow night.

Ricky was 2 for 4 tonight.
