I know this is a socal board and pro wrestling, so Steve can move this to sports if he wants. But I know the initial taping was done out there.
The producers behind this at a recent Olmpic-style wrestling competition said they as early as next week a formal announcement would / could be made and a press release sent out- that Fox Sports Net (national) with broadcast three shows starting in August. The first two lasting one hour. The third lasting two hours. They said it would likely be televised on Sunday afternoons. I guess a deal similar to the one with UFC- where they tested it, but have never shown anymore UFC programming.

will broadcast not with

I would wait before it's announced to say they "have" the deal. They've been saying they are close for a little while now.
I'm a supporter of what they are doing and I hope they do get a deal of some sorts.
UFC didn't survive on Fox Sports because even though they got high ratings, advertisers didn't want to touch it. Wrestling has the same problem, with WWE not getting the same money from advertisers for their 3.5 ratings that another show with the same rating would get.
Edit: AdCombat has a story up about the TV deal at http://news.adcombat.com/article.shtml?id=4276 also. I still will wait and see just because of stuff the promotion has said in the past, but this does look promising, at least we should get to see the original taping finally on TV.

From what the promoters were saying at the show and the wording they used. It just about dotting the i's and crossing the t's. They were pretty confident in their statement that an announcement would be made next week.

And even if it does air, it will probably be short lived. I can't see Olympic-style wrestling doing any better as far as rating goes than the UFC, and will probably do a little less. As far as advertising, I don't see anyone being interested in it any more than they do the WWE and the UFC as you commented on. So- like the UFC, they probably broadcast a few shows- then be gone from Fox Sports Net.

Why the fuck do you post twice, one right after the other, in the same thread? Form a complete fucking thought before you press submit reply, please.

What the fuck do you care what I do care what I do. What is your problem. I haven't ever made any snide remarks towards you. You need to just come up with an intelligent post for once. I posted two things, because after the first. Something else came to mind that I wanted to post. It isn't like I am taking up a bunchof room on this message board. Unlike, someone like you, who posts 100 different times in the same thread. i don't get your point here. I am not seeing the big deal. Especially to use words like fuck in your response. Was it really that up-setting to you??? If so, get a life and stop worrying about me so much.

It sounds as if they are just showing the test taping.
See where Inoki got the idea of playing music during the matches.

Oh yeah, and here is another double post. If it bothers Steve that at times I do that (never thinking it was a big deal). If it bothers Steve- cool, I will do my best to make sure I limit myself to one post to a thread, unless I am responding to a new post. It is his board and website.
But for you, TeamJesus, to make some comment like that is ridiculous. Seeing as this is not your message board or website. And this from a guy who always put a Tampa Bay Bucs helmet and a the same quote from B.I.G. in every post he makes. I just don't get your point, or why you felt the need to post that. I guess you are just someone who needs the stupid slapped out of them.
And I am still curious how music playing over wrestling matches, fights, etc. comes off.

It's OK when the crowd is deathly silent-as was the Toukon crowd.
At the Real Wrestling tapings, it was earsplittingly loud. And they had a DJ.

They play music during amature style wrestling matches? That sounds like it would be unbelievably distracting to both the fans and the wrestlers themselves. I used to wrestle when I was in high school, and think it would have been hard to wrestle with Pantera blaring over the PA. I understand trying to cover a dead crowd, but maybe they should add the music in post production? Just a thought.

This music was techno crap and it was annoying as HELL. The voice overs that played were also terrible.
Normally they don't play music during amateur matches.
The crowd wasn't dead. it was a stacked house, so most everyone knew what was happening and were into it. I know I was.

Techno music and Olympic-style wrestling doesn't really seem to be a good mix. I doubt it was to much of a distraction to the fighters- who were focused in on their opponents. I was just curious if it was a distraction to you in the crowd trying to watch the action. The whole production from what I read sounded interesting. I will just have to wait and see if or when they broadcast it.
Aside from Gardner (who I believe was at the taping), McCoy, and Lindland- what other "name" wrestlers were there? Sanderson wrestle? I don't remember. Or was he even there?

I care when your actions annoy me, thus, my problem would be you.

I'm sorry, but when someone feels the need to insult the under-priviliaged, then I take it personal. We can't all grow up with a silver spoon in our mouths, not unlike a young Ricky Schroeder.
You need to just come up with an intelligent post for once.
So what, now I'm stupid because I'm a minority?
I posted two things, because after the first. Something else came to mind that I wanted to post. It isn't like I am taking up a bunchof room on this message board. Unlike, someone like you, who posts 100 different times in the same thread.
Where exactly do I make 100 posts in the same thread?
i don't get your point here. I am not seeing the big deal. Especially to use words like fuck in your response. Was it really that up-setting to you??? If so, get a life and stop worrying about me so much.
Maybe that's the problem, Roger. You don't see the problem. Maybe if you took off your blinders and got off your "oh-so-mighty" high horse, you'd realize what the problem was. Typical.
And I'm sure you would love for me to stop worrying. You seem to think that if you silence people, the problem will just go away. It won't. If I don't take a stand and speak up, who will?

WHy don't you say what you mean? Maybe I don't have the money SteveSCU does, does that mean I'm not allowed to voice my opinion? I'm sorry I'm not the corporate "color," Roger Deaton, cause then maybe my opinions would matter.
And so what if I like the Bucs and Notorious B.I.G. Does that bother you? Besides, its not like I manually add it to every post I make. There is a setting that allows you to add what we call a "signature" to your posts, and it does it automatically. That's right! This poor dumb kid knows how to use a computer! Sorry to ruin the stereotypes you've grown so accustomed to loving.
I guess you are just someone who needs the stupid slapped out of them.
Threatening violence because you don't like what I have to say? That's weak. But you don't scare me, Roger, I'm not gonna be bullied by the likes of you. Better people than you have tried to silence the cause, and we have always prevailed.
I'm gonna be a nice guy, Roger, and extend the Olive branch. I'm gonna chaulk this up to you having a bad day, because deep down, I think you're a good guy, a little confused though. Deep down, Rog, we are all the same.
I used to wrestle when I was in high school,
LOL, BRO, you crack me up. Yer a joker, man, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Keep doing what your doing and hang tough, BT.
Roger Deaton

OK- but I am confused, and guess I will chalk it up to you smoking some crack today.
Insult the under-priviledged??? Not born with silver spoon in our mouths??? Something agaisnt people of "color"??? What are you talking about? I have no clue what that is in reference too. It makes no sense.
And since you do know about computers, here is a suggestion- you see those little arrows on the side of your screen, when you come to my posts just go on by them.

Not to screw up a good fight, but I always wondered why you double post myself. Not that it really mattered, just wondered why, now I know.
I don't beleive he was trying to bring race into it Jesus, maybe you just interpereted it that way. Although the crack line could be seen as racist.

LOL@ team jesus... you so funny man
LOL@Deaton...man teamjesus is playing you like a fool.

The crack remark, was not directed at the color of his skin- what he was talking about made no sense, and how can it make a fool out of anyone- when he just typed a bunch of babble that had nothing to with anything nor made any sense.
To NO1jobber. LOL- playing you like a fool. ??? Again- what are you talking about. I was assuming he was being serious with his first post if that is what you are meaning. I don't know, it was words on a screen. But someone was saying that I made some negative comments about people of color. What am I suppose to think. I have no clue if he was being serious or not. Cause I had no clue what he was talking about or the purpose of it. Again- nothing that you are him remarked about made any sense. Sometimes it is hard to comprehend stupidity.
Once again, all you got to do when you see on of my posts is just hold on the arrow and go on by.
But hey, if you amuse yourself- more power to you.

I'm looking forward to this Real Pro Wrestling show as well. However, I don't think it'll last at all because the general public could give a shit about amateur wrestling. I hope on this show they stop shoving Rulon Gardner down our throats. That dude is the most boring wrestler to watch ever.

You couldn't be any more accurate. As a former national competitor, I can honestly say that this idea will only interest those few but fiercely loyal fans of the great sport of wrestling.

I don't think they have a 500 lb weight division for wrestling.

I don't know, if when I was wrestling... I could get jacked if they started playing some TOOL or White Zombie... you know the music you listen to when you hit the gym.

Seriously though, amateur wrestling is exciting as fuck unless you're watching a Rulon Gardner match. I tend to like Greco more than Freestyle but most people think Freestyle is the more exciting of the two. Seeing Matt Lindland throw someone effortlessly in greco matches is the coolest thing ever though to watch. I hope this TV deal takes off. There's enough hardcore fans I think to get it a semi-decent rating.

I will watch, but I watched the UFC shows they had on too. So- I won't being getting my hopes up that something original having to do with wrestling / mma will remain on.
Since no channel wants pro wrestling, the UFC, and if this Real Pro Wrestling fails. How about Apartment Wrestling with Nicole Bass as the star.
