I wrote the same thing to xpwlive's message board...

No one's mentioned this anywhere, as far as I know, but in a recent WON (I forget which), Dave Meltzer reported that Shane Douglas would be joining XPW as wrestler and booker once his Time Warner contract expires in April. I believe he'll be done with them and in XPW by their next show. Meltzer said Douglas would probably tone down the product somewhat.

What do people think of this? Douglas as a wrestler is washed up but he'd still rank as one of the better in XPW. As a thinker, he's always put a lot of emphasis on logic, which I think is a good thing. Whenever he commentated in ECW, he always explained the "why" in angles and strategies by wrestlers. I think if he brings logic to XPW's booking, no matter how bland his ideas are, would be better than Black and Kleinrock's current mess writing.

Putting a monkey in front of a computer and letting him pound on the keyboard would probably be better than Black's and Kleinrock's writiing.

Someone needs to do something different with XPW give Douglas a shot if he doesn't pan out get someone else. That company has too many workers busting their asses to suck so bad.

Is Shane Douglas the answer for XPW? At this point it might be like sticking a band-aid on a ruptured artery. What XPW needs is professionalism. Don't insult people by not delivering on things and blaming it on a heel faction. Have the decency to start a show within an hour of the scheduled time. If Douglas can help in that regard, that would be a start. And I think i speak for a lot of fans when I say we don't really need to see someone almost die every month. Right now, XPW is drawing the same size crowd every month no matter what crazy stunt they have planned. And frnakly, it looks like a lot of the same people every month. If the plan is to grow, they obviously need a new direction.
