Just a couple of thoughts/commentary/questions etc. now that the "War" is starting to pick-up:

1. Read this: http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15415

2. WMD -- yes, Iraq has launched missles at "Coalition" forces. But are these the supposed "WMD" that he had? From what I've read from the CIA Website (http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/iraq_wmd/Iraq_Oct_2002.htm) Iraq is allowed to have missiles, as long as they aren't "capable" of exceeding 150km in range. FoxNews is reporting that at least one SCUD missle was launched, but didn't we already know about these and were pressuring Saddam to destroy them before the war? Still no chemical attacks, although some close calls.

3. Why is the news media so suprised when reporting that Iraqi forces are fighting back? "THE ENEMY IS FIGHTING BACK! WTF, in the war?"

4. Sheppard Smith is an idiot. FoxNews is retarded.

5. So we have "more than 40 countries" supporting the US. CNN didn't have a list of actual countries, but I've heard that some of the countries supporting us are pretty "suspect." Plus, wasn't there like 35 supporting us before the war?

6. Why do people think that you can't support your country and you can't support our troops without support this "War"?

7. Why is it so hard to believe that the Iraqi people would oppose an invasion? If someone came into the US and tried to invade our homeland, wouldn't we be pretty pissed off.

He also looks real creepy. FoxNews is the most conservative extreme right wing news outlet on tV. It's the worst, and I can't believe they're #1 in ratings (they'll never shut up about it). I guess people like flashy graphics.

If this is a war to "Liberate" the Iraqi people from Saddam, why is the US flag being hoisted over the land? Isn't that what conquerors do?

Yup, and that's what we are looking like right now…. imperialistic conquerors. The flag being flown in Iraq is a show of arrogance, and I am embarrassed of those soldiers. And people in this country wonder why there are people all over the world that hate us. I know Bush will end up like his daddy, serving one term only. After the war is over, his complete lack of credibility as president will be exposed (again) and he will lose to some democrat (don't vote for Lieberman though!).

Bush rode that 9/11 popularity (although I never understood why) for as long as he could.

Oh, and anyone here that the war is being called: “Operation: Iraqi liberation”. What a joke.

Yeah, I'm sure Bush is shitting himself at the notion of losing to Al Sharpton or Tom Dashale.

And when the citizens are cheering and hugging the "marauders" because they're sick of being under the thumb of a tyrant for so long, "liberate" isn't exactly the worst term to use to describe our actions there (oh wait, that's all propagandist lies, right?)
