I have watched Native Blood's matches at several UPW shows and the last WWA show in Vegas. To be honest, they were not impressive to me. I thought they would have no chance in the hell to get a pop in Japan. However, they did! They did it huge!! Surprisingly, all of my Japanese friends who attended the 3/9 Zero One show at Korakuen unanimously said that they really loved Native Blood.

Of course, it is not because the Indians are good workers. (Obviously, they're not.) But just because of the fact that it was a Zero One show. I mean, Zero One show is a real melting pot. They mixed up shoot fights, worked matches, worked shoot matches, mixed matches, stiff Japanese style matches, American style matches...etc. Zero One show is also like a freaky carnival that exhibits all kinds of queer performers. They've got a Karate fighter, female shoot NHB fighters, shooto style workers, good old American style workers from NWA, a Green beret, a boxer, a kickboxer, a Samoan... The Zero One fans are always looking for shady characters. Now, the fans got the flashy and fat Indian gimmick workers and LOVED them. I've heard that when Native Blood came out, the Zero One fans got soooo happy and started to squeal like Indians with their hand on the mouth...

I guess it totally didn't matter how Native Blood were green. The important thing was, the cheap (no offense. I'm giving them a credit) appearance of Native Blood was so suitable for the carnivalesque space of Zero One show. One of my friends' review of the Native Blood match says, "It's my sauteed pork meal (a typical cheap lunch special in Japan). What I need to live my daily life."
