Since the year is almost up, I figured it's time for the best of 2002 thread for Tijuana. Here are my picks, feel free to add any category you wish.
Wrestler: La Parka - Wrestler is kind of hard to pick this year, but I'll go with Parka because he was at times amazing, and wrestled in Tijuana more than Santo. Santo is a far bigger draw (compare the XLUM shows Santo was on, versus the ones he wasn't), but La Parka is up there in popularity and his Tijuana matches were better on average.
Trios: La Famillia de Tijuana (Damien 666, Halloween, & Nicho) - Easily the top team in Tijuana. Next to Santo the biggest draws in Tijuana, and their feud with Los Guapos earlier in the year was the years top feuds. Most of their matches were pretty entertaining too.
Rookie: Extreme Tiger - I'm not sure he's a rookie, but easily the top young luchador in Tijuana. No one else is close. It's only a matter of time before he gets discovered and is wrestling in Japan or the US.
Promotion: XLUM - I'll go with XLUM by default. They weren't great or anything, but better than AAA, and didn't die off like Promo BC.
Match: Rey Misterio Jr. & Atlantis defeat the teams of Dr. Wagner & Blue Panther, Rey Misterio Sr. & Super Parka, and La Parka & Venom Black (19 April) - This was probably the best match I've seen in Tijuana. Just an incredible match. Aside from it no other matches really stick out (well, there is Famillia vs. Guapos, but the heat is what really made that match). Maybe La Parka and Dr. Wagner continuing to feud will bring some good matches in 03.
