Good show as always from this crew down in Oceanside. I haven't seen B-Boy work in years, so that was a treat. The match with him/Crazy/Chimera vs. Ballards/Johnny Paradise was really fun. The crowd went nuts for it. One or three crazy spots too many at the end for my liking, but a good show. Afterward B-Boy and Crazy left Chimera in the ring and the crowd gave him a standing ovation. He thanked the fans for coming out every month to see them all and said you can still see him on TV. Good stuff.
The guys making the matches for SoCal Pro really know how to put together a card. After that crazy spotfest, it would be difficult to keep the crowd hot for anything else. But the next match out was Hector Canales vs. Ricky Mandel for the SCP Title in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Perfect match placement. Something completely different from the previous match that still kept the fans loud. Good stuff Dino.
The Rumble was a bit long, but fun. Saw some of the students make their debuts and some funny spots from the Ballards and Anchors Away. Crazy and Paradise went at it for most of the match and Crazy finally eliminated Paradise (who was the #1 entrant) toward the end. Then Tommy Wilson immediately ripped Crazy's mask off and threw it out of the ring, prompting Crazy to jump out over the top after it to eliminate him. Well done. Kid Caramba had a long showing in the match and was the last one eliminated by Tommy. Jason Redondo eliminated Wilson early on, but the refs didn't see it and he sneaked back in to win it. Afterward Redondo came back out and cleared Tommy out of the ring. So Tommy is the number one contender, but Redondo has a gripe.
The same guys stay at the top of the card for SCP, but with the belt changing hands from Tommy to Crazy to Ricky to Hector, we still get fresh title matches and feuds. I'd love to see a new face or two atop the card on these shows. The guys that come to mind are Todd Chandler and Peter Avalon, but they're both tied up in tag team feuds.
Always a fun show in Oceanside and if you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest doing so.

Honestly, I don't think Todd Chandler is main event caliber at this point, but I do agree with Peter Avalon. The new students look pretty young, but I think they have potential to make good preliminary-mid card matches at this point. If there's one other talent that could make Main Event status at SCP, it's Ric Ellis.
Otherwise, you hit it dead-on. Johnny Paradise lasted the longest in the match, but Tommy Wilson had the most eliminations.

I thought that was you. Nice to see a throw back.
When you look at SoCal Pro, they didn't have one of their biggest draws, RockNES Monsters, due to scheduling conflicts... but still had a big crowd. Still had a lot of energy and still had a lot of fun at this show. I'll be working on my review of the show later tonight.
In terms of the elevation of talents... I like how they treated Kid Caramaba. I thought he was actually going to pull it out. And the reaction he got from the crowd reminded me a lot of another youngster. Nick Madrid. I think Caramaba has a real future. But I'll have my entire review later tonight.
And I also picked up the NWA Showcase DVD and will be doing a review of that later this week.
And it was nice to meet Marko at the show. I'd seen him a 100 times at a show, never knew who he was. Glad he said hi.
