Showing both staying power and a mind to expand the International Fight League has announced it will have a british based team for its 2008 season, the second of what is supposed to be many foreign based teams for the IFL (the first is of course the Tokyo Sabres mentored by Antonio Inoki). The unnamed British team will be lead by MMA veteran Ian "the Machine" Freeman who is best known stateside as the man who took out a young Frank Mir and was at one point a UFC heavyweight contender before being knocked out by a young Andrei Arvloski.

The IFL will be having its semi final fight event on Nov 2nd with the defending champions Quad City Silverbacks taking on the Toronto Dragons and the LA Anacondas taking on the Potland Wolfpack with a superfight between the returing Mark Kerr and Mike Whitehead headlining.

LOL, Ian Freeman.

I hope he is the team's coach and can teach everyone how to KO Tyson and Pacquiao like he said he'd do, LOL.

I wish Lee Murray was on this team.
