Today, while watching ESPNews (awesome network BTW) they had on Dana White for "a major UFC announcement". Turns out the announcement was for Hughes Vs. GSP, which any intelligent MMA fan would know was set to happen regardless. But the interesting bit of info worth noting was that it's gonna be held at the Arrowhead Pond again, in September I believe for UFC 63. Hopefully I have some money by then to get me a ticket, but chances are tickets are gonna cost an arm and a leg again unless you don't mind sitting at the top of the arena.
Later on they also had Bas Rutten on for an interview, and to hype his match against Kimo at the WFA PPV this weekend. Pretty cool to see like a MMA Day of sorts on ESPNews today, maybe someday they'll actually acknowledge MMA as a sport and start covering it more. Rutten gave a pretty cool interview though, hopefully if he beats Kimo he'll consider fighting again, he's damn entertaining, in the ring and outside it.
Also announced today was that Griffin Vs. Bonnar II will be happening, as expected, but arguably sooner than we thought: At UFC 62 next month. It'll be interesting to see what type of fight they have, I really doubt it'll be another 3 round slugfest like the first one, I expect some takedowns and probably a submission finish. To my knowledge, no other fights for UFC 62 and 63 have been announced yet, besides the Liddell Vs. Babalu II fight.
