Unfortunately for 30-year Hayato “Mach” Sakurai, he didn’t make national headlines in Japanese news circles because of his great fighting career. Instead, he made the news because police arrested 33-year old construction worker Kenichi Sakayori on suspicion of assault (causing an injury). According to police, an incident occurred at 1 AM on April 9th when Sakayori was driving his car slowly on a street in Ibaraki and Sakurai’s right knee touched the car. Sakurai was with three other people at the time. Sakayori didn’t like what happened and ended up giving Sakurai a broken left orbital (cheek) bone, which caused a one-month recovery time period. Sakayori told the police that he didn’t know that Sakurai was a martial artist.

This of course means that Sakurai's match at Bushido 11 is postponed against Mexican sensation Olaf Alphonso.

I'm sure this huge construction worker's victory over a lightweight Sakurai was about as impressive as Matt Hughes', LOL.

I think the construction worker should fight in place, given the situation

So it looks like Batman is going to replace Mach.

Hayato "Mach" Sakurai may be sporting a different look at June 4th's Bushido 11.

It is being reported by some Dream Stage Entertainment insiders that the Bushido star may wear a protective faceshield that would protect his eye sockets in the ring, when he faces Olaf Alfonso on June 4th. The faceshield is an obvious precaution to protect the broken left orbital bone which "Mach" sustained on April 9th in his now notrotious altercation with a motorist in Ibaraki.

Sakurai was already fitted for the faceshield by an orthopedist on April 21st. The make of faceshield will be familiar to many sports fans, as it was made famous by Japanese national soccer team captain DF Miyamoto at the 2002 World Cup. The black faceshield earned Miyamoto the nickname "Batman" for its close resemblance to the disguise of the famous superhero.
