SoCal News & Notes 11/22/2018

In today’s Thanksgiving edition of News & Notes we have the latest info on Ground Zero, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Baja Stars USA, AWS, FIST, SoCal Pro, and our annual Black Friday guide. Plus a listing of all of this week’s Southern California pro-wrestling and MMA events. Click for today’s update.

Ground Zero announced earlier this week that they are moving their events from Fite TV to Powerbomb.TV, making them the first Southern California promotion to join that service. Powerbomb is an independent wrestling focused streaming service that currently has deals with 115 different promotions. Ground Zero’s second through fourth shows are already up on the service now. I was told the promotion hopes to live stream events on the service in the future as well.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis will be defending his title against Tito Escondido at the December 9 Championship Wrestling from Hollywood Milestone event in Port Hueneme. Willie Mack will be defending the NWA National Title as well.

Milestone will also feature three of the Young Lion’s from New Japan Pro Wrestling’s LA Dojo at the event. Karl Fredericks will be facing Tyler Bateman and Alex Coughlin and Clark Connors will team to face Ray Rosas and Adrian Quest.

Baja Stars USA has announced that Danny Limelight will be defending his Baja Stars Cruiserweight Championship against Sammy Guevara at the promotion’s third anniversary show on February 16 in San Diego. Bandido and Flamita are also scheduled to appear at the event.

AWS has announced Riley Shepard will be making her Southern California debut on their May 18, 2019 Ladies Night #3 event.

FIST Combat announced that their vacant championship will be decided in a cage match between Danny Limelight, Royce Isaacs, and Anthony Idol on December 20 in La Mesa.

Joey Ryan is off the promotion’s December 6 show due to his injury.

SoCal Pro’s next event will be on January 12, 2019 at the Boys & Girls Club in Vista.

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday coming up this weekend, here is our annual rundown of some of the specials that are out there.
