SoCal News & Notes 08/17/2017

In today’s news and notes we have updates from SCWA, PCW, AWS, PWG, EWF, FIST, SoCal Pro, and more. Click for today’s SoCal News and Notes.

Danny Limelight will be making his in-ring return on September 16th for SCWA in Los Angeles. He had stopped wrestling in September of 2016 due to Marine Corp commitments, but did come back to drop his FCW XRT title on February 11th of this year to Eli Everfly. An opponent has not been named yet.

SquaredCircleSirens is reporting that Hania The Howling Huntress has signed with Global Force Wrestling. She has made several appearances for AWS throughout the last few years, including a pretty good match against Sage Sin back in April. Her April AWS match has been her only match so far this year.

Joe Graves will be returning to PCW as part of their Young Guns II show on September 2nd. No opponent was announced.

The ceremony to induct Joey “Kaos” Munoz and Superboy into the Southern California Pro-Wrestling Hall of Fame will take place on September 22nd at the Santino Bros. show in Downey.

The Netflix show GLOW, which takes place in Los Angeles and featured Awesome Kong and several Southern California wrestlers in quest roles has been renewed for a second season.

For those who are interested, PWG will be using 2 different rings during the Battle of Los Angeles tournament. On night 1 the ring will be supplied by Martin Marin and on night 2 and 3 the ring will be supplied by Jesse Hernandez, which is their normal ring. The reason for the need for 2 separate rings is EWF will be holding a show of their own at the same time as night 1 of BOLA.

The finals of EWF’s Inland Title Tournament will take place during their September 1st show in Covina and it will be Andy Brown against Adrian Quest.

Kikutaro will be facing Dirty Doug at SoCal Pro’s Super Clash on September 16th in Oceanside.

Biagio Crescenzo is off this Saturday’s FIST Combat show in San Diego and is being replaced by Eli Everfly. He will be in a number one contender’s match for the FCW XRT title also featuring Ray Lyn, Donnie Suarez, and Darwin Finch.

Jacob Diez will be facing Bestia 666 on the September 22nd FIST Combat show in San Diego.

ProWrestlingSheet has a story up on B-Boy asking for, and being granted, his release from Lucha Underground. Even though he signed a seven season deal like a lot of the cast, B-Boy’s character Bael was killed off in season 1 and he hasn’t been used since. Several other wrestler’s whose characters were killed off, such as Lil’ Cholo and Mariachi Loco, have been given new characters to play.

Tickets for Bar Wrestling’s September 7th show in Baldwin Park will go on sale after their show tonight ends. Their September 7th show will have Sean Waltman, Awesome Kong, Tessa Blanchard, and EC3 on it. Limited tickets are available at the door for tonight’s show.
