Kyler Phillips defeated Jonathan Quiroz via Unanimous Decision

Neither guy had a real advantage early on in the 1st Round, but Quiroz had some good standup. It wasn’t until the 2nd Round  when Philips was able to  take Quiroz to the ground after an attempted spinning back fist by Quiroz. Philips dominated with his grappling in the second round having controlled Quiroz’ back for the majority of the round. He opened up the third round by landing a right and was able to take the back of Quiroz again after a scramble. He would use this to set up a Triangle Coke attempt on Quiroz midway through the round. Philips’ grappling was very dominant here, but Quiroz was able to look for a leg lock attempt before the fight came to an end.

Andrew’s Score: 29-26 for Philips (Philips’ grappling dominance was way too much for Quiroz in the last two rounds, so I scored them 10-8 for Philips)
Judges’ Scores: Gene LeBell:  29 28, Michael Bell:  29-26, Ron McCarthy 29-26 for Philips

Kyler Philips improves to 4-0, Jonathan Quiroz  falls to 2-2.
