SoCal News & Notes 05/11/2017

In today’s News & Notes there is updates from SoCal Pro, FIST, Maverick Pro, SCWA, FCW, CWFH, PCW, MPW, Vendetta Pro, and much more. Click for today’s update.

SoCal Pro’s May 20th show is being moved to their school in San Marcos. The show was originally scheduled to be at their normal venue, the Oceanside Boys & Girls Club, but was forced to change due to a scheduling conflict with the building.

They have released the lineup for the show and Anthony Idol will make his first SoCal Pro heavyweight title defense against Mike Camden and Ju Dizz in the main event. Also scheduled are Destro challenging Ryan Kidd for the SoCal Pro Golden State title, Hunter Freeman versus Dark Usagi, Mariachi Loco versus Ricky Mandel, and SoCal Crazy versus Dirty Doug. Belltime is 7:00 pm.

Terex (Jason Hunt) was admitted to the hospital yesterday due to fluid in his lungs, and as of this writing he is still there. I’d like to send best wishes his way and I hope for a speedy recovery.

Willie Mack is off May 12th’s FIST Combat show in San Diego due to another booking, but will due a makeup date with the promotion in the future.

Kikutaro has been added to FIST Combat’s June 9th show in San Diego. FIST Combat is promoting it as their biggest show of the year and Joey Ryan and Delirious were previously announced for the show.

Chris Strong has been added to Maverick Pro’s May 13th show in Los Angeles.

Maverick Pro and SCWA will be holding a joint show on July 15th at American Legion #206 in Los Angeles. Shotzi Blackheart will defend the SCWA women’s title against Sage Sin Supreme and Biagio Crescenzo will be defending the SCWA Cruiserweight title against Amazing Jr.

The wrestler who appeared as the Saturday Night Stud at April 30th’s SCWA show used to wrestle in Southern California in the late 90s as Troubled Youth. His biggest claim to fame is he was part of John Cena’s first match when Cena, wrestling as The Prototype, beat him and Funky Billy Kim in a handicapped match.

Sage Sin Supreme is the first name announced for Finest City Wrestling’s six-woman tables, ladders, and chairs match set for their July 22nd show.

The promotion has also added Rey Fenix and Penta El 0M to the main event of their June 3rd show in Imperial Beach. The match will now be Rey Mysterio Jr. and Rey Horus versus Jeff Cobb and Bestia 666 versus Penta El 0M and Rey Feinx.

YUMA will defend the CZW Wired title, which he won from Joey Janela at a Championship Wrestling from Hollywood taping, against MJF at Combat Zone Wrestling’s May 13th show in Voorhees, NJ.

Boone: The Bounty Hunter came out on Amazon Video this week. The movie, which has taken five years to put together, was financed by John Hennigan, who wrestles as Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground. Hennigan also wrote the original story, co-wrote the script, was an executive producer, and stars in the film. It currently has a five star average rating on Amazon.

Scorpio Sky will defend his United Television Championship against a to-be-determined opponent from Rockstar Pro Wrestling at May 14th’s Championship Wrestling from Hollywood taping in Port Hueneme.

Front row tickets have sold out for Pacific Coast Wrestling’s June 2nd show in Wilmington.

Hellkid has announced his retirement and that his last match will be at Millennium Pro Wrestling’s June 2nd show in Moorpark.

Vendetta Pro Wrestling is adding a match between midget versions of Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor to their MidgetMania shows.
