SoCal News & Notes 11/09/2016

Providing the world hasn’t been destroyed and we are all living in some wasteland hoping to ride eternal, shiny and chrome, here are news and notes from around Southern California and beyond. Including UEW, PCW, FCW, Sabotage, WOW, AWS, and more. Click for the update.

UEW has announced the first 7 entrants in their annual West Coast Cruiser Cup tournament. So far “Miracle” Mike James, Rudy Rodriguez, “Jungle Boy” Nate Coy, Jake Atlas, Koto Hiro, Darwin Finch, and G.C. Bahyl have been announced. There is still one more entrant to be named. The tournament will be taking place at the UEW Arena in Los Angeles on November 20th at 1:00 pm. After the tournament they will have a viewing party for Survivor Series.

PCW’s one year anniversary show will be held on January 20th and be called “Fantasm.” Tickets will go on sale November 14th. They will be announcing the venue at their November 12th show.

Updating our story from a few weeks ago on the 10 News San Diego story where they profiled a Poway High School football player, Peter Neil, who claimed to have trained to be a wrestler at SoCal Pro’s school, 10 News has issued a formal apology to SoCal Pro and admitted on the air the story was incorrect. 10 News claims they were misled by the player, his mother, and the head coach of the football program.

FCW had to change their scheduled death match main event between Team FCW and Team Revelation after the venue balked at having a death match. The match is now a no-DQ match with restrictions set by the venue and Douglas James’ first title defense against Lil’ Cholo is the main event.

Sabotage’s 2nd show on February 18, 2017, titled “Hey Ladies” in keeping with their Beastie Boys theme, will feature a 16 woman tournament to become the first Sabotage champion. The first two entrants are Buggy Nova and Ray Lyn.

Ruby Raze will be facing Katie Forbes in a grudge match at Wildkat Sports November 12th show in Metairie, LA. This show will mark one year that Raze has been wrestling for Wildkat.

Women of Wrestling announced they will be starting a tag-team tournament on their November 18th Friday Night Fights show in Long Beach. No teams or format have been announced. Keta Rush will be appearing on the show.

WOW’s The Dagger and Stephy Slays will be appearing on LATV’s Get It Girl on November 9th at 5:00 pm. Check LATV.com to figure out how to find the channel in your area.
