SoCal News & Notes 09/29/2016

Today’s news and notes has updates on FCW, Sabotage, AWS, PWG, UEW, OWA and more. Click to read the latest updates from around SoCal.

Though it hasn’t been advertised as one, I’ve been told Douglas James versus B-Boy at October 8th’s FCW show in San Diego will be a two out of three falls match. It makes sense to add a stipulation to the match as they already had a singles match in FCW a few months ago with a clean finish.

If Danny Limelight is able to appear at FCW’s October 8th show he told me it will be his last match for the foreseeable future. For those who don’t know, Limelight is in the Marines and was accepted to drill instructor school which had been one of his dreams for some time. As the school started a few days ago, he wasn’t sure if the schedule would allow him to be able to wrestle on the show. He had already cancelled other bookings including a match for the SCWA and The Crash in Tijuana last week.

At last weekend’s AWS show they announced Sage Sin Supreme will be facing AWS women’s champion Nicole Savoy at October 7th’s Sabotage show in Covina. Also announced for that show this week is a Team Japan versus Team Canada match. They haven’t announced who is on each team, however Kairi Hojo and Yoko Bito are the only two announced Japanese wrestlers on the card and Taya Valkyrie, Kat Von Heez, and Kaitlin Diemond are the Canadians.

Speaking of Nicole Savoy, she received a tryout at the WWE performance center in Florida this week according to WWE.com. Also getting tryouts were SoCal regulars Shayna Baszler and Jacob Fatu.

Peter Avalon will not be able to make the November 26th AWS show due to another booking, so he will be replaced in his match with Hudson Envy by Shotzi Blackheart. It will be their first match up.

As of a few days ago PWG doesn’t have a date scheduled for their next show. Legion Larry, who is normally the person they coordinate the dates with has been in the hospital.

A couple matches that have just been announced for October 1st’s UEW show in Los Angeles are Hoss Hog versus Pinky and Max X versus Miracle Mike James.

OWA has announced CMLL’s Puma King will be appearing at their November 19th show in San Diego. No matchup has been announced.

SCWA has added Buggy Nova to their December 3rd show in Los Angeles.
