WOW – Women of Wrestling Returns To Los Angeles Thursday, September 29th at The Belasco Theater

WOW Owner Jeanie Buss Promises Action Entertainment For The Digital Age

Los Angeles, CA September 15, 2016 – Los Angeles Lakers President Jeanie Buss and David McLane, the impresario behind the ’80s hit GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling), are proud to announce the return of WOW – Women Of Wrestling to Los Angeles, Thursday, September 29th at the historic downtown Belasco Theater.

Having rebooted WOW this year with the launch of its “Get to Know Your Superheroes” campaign and new telecast of matches from Las Vegas on its YouTube channel, WOW will celebrate its return to Los Angeles by innovatively connecting with fans through its digital ecosystem that spotlights WOW’s female superheroes, villains and over-the-top characters.

“We’ve spent a lot of time listening to the fans of wrestling and, starting with our entire ‘digital-first’ mindset to our mission of challenging the status quo, we are transforming women’s wrestling,” WOW Owner Jeanie Buss said. “We’ve spent a lot of time to dive deep into our target audience and shape our brand position so our digital ecosystem is truly in tune with our enthusiastic fan base and their love of strong, confident female athletes. We are so excited to bring WOW live to downtown Los Angeles, it’s going to be a lot fun.”

WOW matchmaker David McLane has signed WOW veterans from the Nevada State Prison, and the possible inspiration for Orange is the New Black, Caged Heat, Delta Lotta Pain and Loca; along with The All American Girls, Santana Garrett and Amber O’Neal; Miss Southern Comfort Jesse Belle; The Governor’s Daughter, Abilene Maverick; widow and full on Gone Girl, The Dagger; the Millennial Hustler who has never seen an emoji she didn’t like, Stephy Slays; and MMA fighters Keta Rush and Genesis, who will make their WOW debuts.

The WOW World Championship Title will be on the line when the newly crowned champion, Jungle Grrrl, defends the title against the winner of WOW’s Friday Night Fights event that will takes place in Long Beach on September 16th. Entering the tournament will be Katie Forbes.

Ms. Forbes, who TMZ recently billed as “HOT” possibly due to her striking resemblance to a certain Kardashian and Amber Rose, will be billed as the character, Khloe Hurtz.

In all, the Belasco theatrical nightclub will feature eight WOW matches, a live DJ, Comedy Store and Showtime TV comedian Eleanor Karrigan, and the debut of the “Ring Rats”… a group of hunky guys to escort Ms. Hurtz to the ring. No doubt Jeanie Buss is delivering a great mix of fun and action entertainment to the fans of WOW!

Tickets are between $15 and $45 with beer specials and VIP Experience meet n’ greet upgrades available. Tickets may be purchased through WOW’s website, WOWE.com.
