Jay Cal’s View #152

Condolences to those who’ve lost loved ones during the tragedy in San Bernardino. This has been a very solemn week. Thankful to be able to turn to wrestling to give me something to smile about. This week, Joey Ryan is kind of a Big Deal in Japan. There was a big shake up at Vendetta Pro Wrestling this weekend. More news with United Wrestling Network and all this weeks wrestling events.

Kind of a Big Deal in Japan

Available at Pro Wrestling Tees now…

Joey Ryan has captivated the world yet again.  As I type this he is on a flight to Chicago where inevitably he will sell t-shirts, wrestle a match, make the fans; laugh, cringe, but ultimately he’ll give those in attendance their moneys worth.  A World Traveler Joey Ryan is still the reigning and defending Queensland Wrestling Alliance Global Championship.  Joey Ryan was the first PWGChampion to take the title World Wide.  He and Karl Anderson defended the NWA World Tag Team Championships all across North America and even defended them in Australia.  Joey was a trainer on Hulk Hogan’s a star of Wrestling Society X, featured internationally with Ring Ka King, and for a brief time was a part of the TNA Roster.  But it was the work of five days ago that has captivated Social Media all over the world.  Forget trending on Twitter with the 87%, Joey was trending on various social media platforms.  The former CWFH Heritage Tag Champion and United Wrestling Network TV Champion has been in Japan wrestling for DDT, his second tour with the company this year.

Joey has been known as the King of Sleaze for some time.  Who would have thought it could have gotten sleazier than when having Lucha Underground’s Catrina (Karlee Perez) shove a cherry lollipop up his keyster.  What could only be described as shocking is Joey Ryan using his manhood to win a test of strength with Danshoku Dino.  By manhood obviously I mean his penis.  Wrestling is often wild and sometimes weird.  It wasn’t exactly Joey Hulking out with his Wang Out… but the video above is all that it took to go viral.  ESPN, Sporting News, 120 Sports, Wrestling News Source, Cheezburger, Maxim, New York Daily News Sports, HuffPost Sports, Fox Sports, SB Nation, The Soup, and countless other websites have featured the act of crotch strength.  Which begs the question, what the fuck TMZ.  Someone get Ryan Satin back in the offices.  Personally I’m hoping this launches a new era of internet meme that replaces Chuck Norris with Joey’s dick.

Joey Ryan will be a part of the Freelance Wrestling’s “Raw Power” show taking place tonight at 9pm tonight in at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago Illinois, in an intergender bout against Sally Stiches.  The following night Joey will be Joey will be wrestling at Dreamwave in La Salle Illinois.  Joey will then be at the Oceanview Pavillion on Sunday in Pt Huneme as part of the CWFH Television Taping in a qualify match for the PP3 Cup.

Changes at NWA: Vendetta Pro Wrestling
Ricky Ruffin shocked quit a few people a month ago when he bested Matt Riviera for the NWA Western States Championship. It was kind of surprising that Riviera didn’t get an immediate rematch. Even more surprising that after a few weeks of changing up the name of the Vendetta Underground Championship into the NWA Pacific Coast Championship, that they just abandoned that idea and unified the title with the Western States Belt. That was probably for the best, because by my count there was 4 singles title in Vendetta and it was becoming increasingly difficult to find out which title ranked about which title. For those keeping score it’s the Vendetta Pro Heavyweight Championship, the NWA Western States Championship, and the NWA Tri-Fore Championship are on equal footing. Ruffin defeated Judas the Apostle to absorb the Pacific Coast/Underground Championship. Also at the last NWA Vendetta show, Rik Luxury won the Roland Alexander Memorial Battle Royal to become the Interim Vendetta Pro Champion, until Lil Cholo is healthy enough to compete against Luxury to become the Undisputed Champion. Also… apparently hell has frozen over because Sledge and JD Horror returned to attack Billy Blade. For those who remember, there was a huge falling out between Sledge and Billy. And I’m amazed that they were able to bury the hatchet and work together again.

United Wrestling Network
It appears that international expansion may be on the horizon for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood or at the very least the United Wrestling Network. David Marquez is currently looking for commentators who speak Japanese, Hindi or French for an upcoming pro wrestling project. If you meet the criteria, please email him at david_marquez@hollywoodwrestling.com. If you’re interested, you should have an interest in television broadcasting and a deep knowledge of pro wrestling.

No new episode of CWFH has been released yet, probably due to the double release last week. Look for one to drop perhaps on Saturday. New episodes air at 4PM on Saturdays or you can catch the YouToo America (from computers not mobile devices) 9PM, Pacific. Outside of SoCal you can see the show in Kansas City on Time Warner Sports Mondays at 8:00PM and starting Sunday October 25, CWFH can be seen on WFBD-TV Channel 48 Pensacola, FL at 1:00PM.

The Percy Pringle III Cup qualifying matches start this weekend as CWFH returns to the Oceanview Pavillion in Pt. Hueneme this weekend for the last show of the year.  Scheduled for qualifying matches are “Mr. Azucar” Rocky Romero, Eli Drake, Kevin Martenson, Big Duke, Ryan Taylor, Bateman, Hobo, Jervis Cottonbelly and more.  Brian Myers (formerly known as Curt Hawkins) returns to CWFH, this time to face “Pretty” Peter Avalon for the Hollywood Heritage Championship.  Last time Myers was at CWFH he nearly won the UWN TV Title from Kevin Martenson.  Gulak and Thatcher defend against Gold Cold War w/Caesar Black.  James “Main Event” Morgan defends his UWN Title against Todd Chandler.
