Former PWG World Champion to be at Evolve Shows this Weekend.  If anything was going to bring Scrub out of retirement, this weekends Stardom shows were going to be it. And all the events this weekend.

What is going on with WWE & WWN?
Sami Zayn is competing live for EVOLVE this weekend.  He’ll be joined by Willie Mack, TJ Perkins, Rocky Romero, and Hollywood Heritage Tag Champions Gulak & Thatcher (who won’t be teaming this weekend together).  But why is this important?  “It’s been a crazy week here at WWN since the Sami Zayn announcement on Monday. We are in uncharted waters. You have supported us and you have been asking us what’s going on with WWE and WWN…Yes, there is obviously a growing relationship. What direction it will take is unknown. There are rumors and speculation, but this relationship changes and develops almost weekly. This is a road that has never been traveled before. There is no precedent. We don’t know what to expect nor what is possible. All this means is that anything can happen. There are infinite possibilities. The only sure thing is that this will be a wild, unpredictable and thrilling ride. We will all find out where this road goes together. There is no telling what will happen next.” Outside of Sami appearing live this weekend, we know that WWE published an article on WWE.com about “Meet the 5 EVOLVE wrestlers you need to know”. On the list is Johnny Gargano, who has already worked for NXT and Thatcher.

Stardom Debuts this Weekend
It was January 9th of this year that via Jay Cal’s View #105 I reported on Hudson Envy’s departure to the land of the “Rising Sun” for her first tour of Stardom.  Here it is nine months later and Stardom has its eyes set on Southern California for two shows this weekend (one tonight and one on Sunday).   However this isn’t the first time a Joshi Promotion has sent women wrestlers to the area.  As part of the Revolution Pro “Revolution J” Tournament in September 2002, two of at the time hottest Joshi Stars competed in Anaheim at the Market Place.  From Hyper Visual Fighting: ARSION; Gami took on Michiko Ohmukai.  ARSION was also the promotion that would bring in Sara Del Rey  and later Cheerleader Melissa, who is now the Stardom USA President, to Japan.  This is a unique experience because this is the first time an established women’s wrestling promotion is coming to Southern California for a show.  Joining the group this weekend will be NWA Woman’s Champion Santana Garret, Mia Yim, Thunder Rosa, Brittany Wonder, and Datura.

Year End Awards Voting
You ever hear someone bitch and complain about how things aren’t going the way they wanted. Or that they don’t get recognition… I had no less than 10 people last year send me nasty emails and facebook messages telling me that they didn’t think our awards were fair. Or how we don’t represent enough women wrestlers or luchadors or that we’re a bunch of PWG Marks, etc. etc. etc. Regardless, earlier this month we invited everyone to come make their votes for the month count. And yet, not one person has voted for Wrestler of the Month or Match of the Month. It just goes to show you, people would rather bitch than do something to fix the problem. I’m going to point the ignorant folks who complain in January that the voting is rigged or that they weren’t allowed to be part of the process.
