Super Porky Double Booked, won’t be at FCW in Pico Rivera

Brazo de Plata aka “Super Porky” was announced to be part of the Main Event for Full Contact Wrestling’s return show in Pico Rivera at A Mi Hacienda. However SoCal Wrestling Hall of Famer Chavo Guerrero announced via Facebook that he would be substituting for Super Porky. “I will be in Pico Rivera, CA this Saturday… taking the place of Porky, Brazos De Plata,(or one of those metals) he is injured and called me to fill in with tag partners, my Bros Los Chivos hope to see y’all there.” There has been no formal announcement by FCW LA nor have they returned my messages.

Super Porky did compete teaming with Dragón Rojo Jr and Titán in a losing effort against Ephesto, Mephisto, Niebla Roja in Arena México for CMLL on Tuesday Night, January 27th. And Lucha Libre expert “TheCubsFan” is reporting that Porky is also scheduled to be appearing at CMLL Events on Monday and Tuesday. On February 2nd Brazo de Plata is teaming with Rey Cometa, and Stigma to challenge Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Kráneo at the Arena Puebla. February 3rd from Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, Porky teams with Blue Panther, and Titán to take on Kráneo, Rey Bucanero, and Thunder.

0131600@TheCubsFan” also shared with me why Super Porky won’t be in Pico Rivera.  Apparently, there isn’t an injury, as much as there is another booking in Mexico that Super Porky is honoring instead of his booking in Pico Rivera. Fans who were hoping to see Brazo de Plata Saturday will be disappointed.

It is unclear if this was a bait and switch tactic by FCW or just an unfortunate set of circumstances.  Giving FCW the benefit of the doubt, their first time around booked a lot of lucha libre talent and it isn’t uncommon for luchadors to be double booked.

  1. Truthfully I think Chavo Guerrero is a WAY bigger draw than Super Porky so a “bait and switch tactic” doesn’t make much sense to me.
