[RECAP] EWF in Azusa, ca April 11th 2014

“The Expert” Matt Sinister is taking over the commentary for this evening’s event.

RJ Ruiz def Abu the Terrible (w/Uday Ukleja) via “TKO” Cutter finisher. Afterwards, RJ Ruiz joins Matt Sinister in the commentary table.

EWF Commissioner Frank Mott & EWF Deputy Director  “Handsome” Johnny Starr comes to the ring to talk about the May 2nd show which is the EWF’s 18 year anniversary show. Saying the main event will be the EWF championship defended in a casket match with champion Thomas Wilson as he faces “Ironman” Mike Maze.

Maze arrives to the ring & waits for “The Mega king” to make his way to sign the contract. Marty Elias makes his way to the ring to deal with everyone but Starr sets him straight that Thomas Wilson has the end of the night to sign the contract for the May 2nd show otherwise he’ll be stripped of the EWF championship.

EWF American Championship:
“Uptown” Andy Brown def Brute Baretto (w/Walt Wizeone Zeman) via High Knee strike to retain the championship

We return from intermission as the entire EWF roster do a 10 bell salute to Brandon Gatson’s father & The Ultimate Warrior who passed away this week.

“Sunset Blvd Bad Boy” Richie Slade def Sasha Darevko via “Stage Dive” Slice Bread finisher. After the match, Slade takes the mic & talks about his time in EWF, his accomplishments & defeats which he calls out Andy Brown. He asking Brown for a rematch for the American championship since Connected interfere in the previous match between Slade & Brown which Andy Brown agreed to the match & Commissioner Johnny Starr officially announces that next month May 16th in Azusa, ca these two will face each other for the championship.

Main Event:
EWF Champion “Mega King” Thomas Wilson I & “Ranchy” Rico Dynamite (w/Marty Elias) def “Ironman” Mike Maze & Misterioso Jr via 5 “Mega” Superkicks onto Mike Maze for the 3 count. Afterwards, Wilson grabs the mic & says that Maze’s career will die on May 2nd at the anniversary show & signed the contract to make it official.

Tonight’s show was not bad despite the technical issues from the Livestream feed but good amount of fans in attendance & overall decent matches. As to my Matches of the Night, these matches had the fans glued to their seats with the great chemistry & technique in their matches..so my MOTN goes to:
