A Recap of CWFH’s PP3 Cup, Dec. 8th

Shot Of The Night - 12-8-13

This CHAOS COLUMN is a recap of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood’s “Percy Pringle III Memorial Cup Night” at the Oceanview Pavilion, Port Hueneme on December 8th 2013.  Another large crowd that filled most of the middle seats of the pavilion.

* 6 PP3 Memorial Cup Qualifiers

1 – The Family Stone (James Morgan, Cedric The Hitman, & Othello, w/ Stu Stone) def. The Sutton Bros. (Ian, Hoss, & Jodie) when Othello p. Ian with the “Brooklyn Killer” Heart Shot.

2 – Boxcar Nobodies (Hobo, Pinky, & Angel Lopez) def. The Revolution (Che Cabrera, Fidel Bravo, & Ali Hussein–who subbed for Sasha Darevko) when Pinky p. Ali with the Pinky Bomb.

3 – Team CWFA (Tyson Tyler, Hammerstone, & R3) def. Sgt. Major Alexander Paul, Ryan J. Morals, & Eli Everfly when Hammerstone p. Eli with Tyler’s Lungblower into R3’s Backbreaker.

4 – The RockNES Monsters (Johnny Yuma & Johnny Goodtime) def. Daniel Joseph & Jordan Brooks when Yuma buried Brooks underneath the stage of the pavilion, then Goodtime hit the top rope knee drop to the back of Joseph’s neck for the pin. Yuma then brought out the rest of The Vermin.

5 – The Vermin (Ryan Taylor, Nick Madrid, & Tito Escondido) def. Papadon, Tyshaun Prince, & Sergio Vega when Tito p. Sergio with the F5.

6 – CWFH Tag Team Champions PPRay (Peter Avalon & Ray Rosas), Willie Mack, & Ricky Mandel (w/ Shelly Martinez) def. Mikey O’Shea, Todd Chandler, Eric Cross, & Rudy Telerana when Ricky Mandel threw Willie onto Mikey outside to pin Todd, who ate the Chocolate Thunderbomb.

7 – Joey Ryan successfully defended the MavTV title, pinning Leo Blaze (w/ Stu Stone) with the Mustache Ride.

SM – Last Man Standing match that saw Scorpio Sky (w/ Christian Cole) successfully defend the Heritage title over Big Duke. The crowd were not happy with the result, and threw their empty water bottles into the ring.

M – The PP3 Memorial Cup Battle Royal. Odd moments included everyone throwing out Othello, and Vermin members running in after the field was whittled down to 5–James Morgan, Ricky Mandel, Tyson Tyler, Ryan Taylor, & Willie Mack. During this time, Ricky Mandel was thrown out between the ropes, and stayed outside the ring while the remaining eliminations went on. Willie Mack threw Tyson Tyler over the top rope, then hit a big Clothesline to knock him off. Stu Stone surprised Ryan Taylor by low-bridging the ropes to make him go over and out. James Morgan threw Willie Mack out afterwards, but he & Stu Stone forgot about Ricky Mandel. Ricky worked his way out of the Crossface Chickenwing, and threw out James Morgan to win the cup. When asked by Dave Marquez on what he planned to do with his title shot by winning the cup, he said, “That’s for me to know, and for you to find out!” At this rate, “The Mirror Image” might pull a Randy Orton. Neither Joey Ryan nor Scorpio Sky may never see him coming.

In all, it was a strong card, though obviously not as strong as the “Open Door Challenge” special last November. TV tapings for KDOC & MavTV resumes on 1/12/14.
