[RECAP] Santino Bros Weekly Showcase September 5th

This is Draven Unscripted with a full recap on Santino Bros Weekly Showcase in Bell Gardens, Ca. I am reviewing this show through U-stream.Santino Bros

This show is to crown the first Santino Bros Champion in a one night 8 man tournament.

First round:
Ray Rosas def Joey Ryan with a Sunset Flip bomb pin for the win & to advance to the next round of the championship tournament. (Strong opening contest, very quick paced, high octane match.)

Famous B def Hoss Hogg with a quick pin to advance to the next round in the tournament.

BC Killer def Mikey O’Shea with a 2nd rope “Vader” Bomb to advance to the next round in the tournament. ( Good battle of the big man match)

Robbie Phoenix def Che Cabrera with a Suplex Neckbreaker to advance into the next round of the tournament. After, both men showed sportsmanship until Cabrera hit a belly to belly suplex on Phoenix & stomped on him & left disappointed. (Very solid match, classic teacher vs student match)

Non Tournament Match:
Eli Everfly def Ian Sutton (w/Hoss Hogg) when Hogg accidentally hit Sutton over the head with a chair & Everfly got the pinfall.

Semi Finals:

Ray Rosas def Famous B with a Sunset Flip bomb for the 3 count & moves into the finals.

Robbie Phoenix def BC Killer with what looks like a Cobra Clutch Crippler Crossface submission to advance to the finals against Ray Rosas.

Finals:

Robbie Phoenix def Ray Rosas with a double arm driver to win & become the NEW Santino Bros Champion. After, Joey Kaos congratulated Phoenix & the fans pounded the ring to pay respects to the new champion. Robbie Phoenix grabs the mic, thanked the fans & the talent who competed in the tournament this evening.

Tonight’s show was the biggest attendance I’ve seen at the Santino Bros weekly showcase & the fans were hot this evening. Once again, the Ustream feed had some issues but I was able to see the matches as well as the finishes. Overall, this weeks Santino Bros Show was a good one but as to the matches this evening, I do have my Matches of the Night & I felt these matches took the honors:

Ray Rosas vs Joey Ryan

Robbie Phoenix vs Che Cabrera

Mikey O’shea vs BC Killer

Rosas/Ryan: Great opening contest to start the show, very fast paced action, multiple pin attempts & overall great chemistry between these two So Cal Favorites.

O’Shea/Killer: I thought this was a very solid “Battle of the Big Men” match. Both men had good match pitting strength against strength & I can see these two men go against each other again down the road. Overall, great match guys.

Phoenix/Cabrera: This match had a classic match feel to it. I also felt this match was your typical “Teacher vs Former Student” type match up with some great storytelling & chemistry. I enjoyed the technical style in this match, too…another great match.

Congrats to Robbie Phoenix in winning the championship, may you have a long & successful reign.

Until next time, this is Mike Draven….signing off
