A Recap of Mach-1’s “As Seen on Television” June 30th

This Chaos Column is a recap of M1W “As Seen on TV” at the Epic Lounge, Downey CA, June 30th 2013

1 – Terex p. Daniel Joseph
Daniel was enthusiastic enough to be in the opener, but that got snuffed out fast by the 400-lb. big man. Terex was in full control late, capping it with the Moonsault for the pin.

2 – Jacob Diez p. Cedric The Hitman
Good back-and-forth match, but Jacob managed to pull off his finisher–what looked like a Butterfly Suplex hold into a Michinoku Driver, for the pin.

3 – El Ridiculoso p. Josh Rozay
Good mix of comedy & serious wrestling. Frustrated by only getting 2-counts after significant moves, Josh Rozay got in the face of Referee Kevin Spencer, and that would prove costly, as the referee gave a fast 3-count when Ridiculoso rolled Rozay up for the pin.

4 – Angel Lopez (w/ Brian Weston) p. Sexy Chino
Obvious size mismatch, and that would show throughout the match. Chino got in a few moves, but it was pretty much all Angel Lopez, as he hit a Modified DDT for the pin. He & Weston shoved Chino out of the ring, then Weston got ready for his own match.

SM – Mikey O’Shea p. Brian Weston (w/ Angel Lopez)
Strong back-and-forth action. Angel Lopez tried to distract Referee Kevin Spencer, but Sexy Chino ran in and swept Angel’s legs out from under him, making him go face-first onto the apron. That allowed Mikey to hit the Irish Curse for the pin.

M – The Chef p. Sasha Darevko to successfully defend the M1W Championship
Great main event for a “Sunday Lite Matinee”. Strong back and forth action here, but The Chef hit his signature move–what looked like a Flapjack Facebuster to me–for the pin.

It took awhile for the crowd to get into it, but once they did, it certainly helped the wrestlers in the upper card. The last two matches were the top 2 in my books, with the main event my choice for match of the card. With Sasha Darevko starting to make his mark on CWFH, teaming up with Che Cabrera as “The Revolution”, would it be nice for Dave & Co. to work The Chef onto the roster, perhaps as part of a feud against Che & Sasha? Time will only tell.
