Tonight was the debut of Quintessential Pro Wrestling in Monrovia, Ca. Here is the rundown of the card:
B-Boy & The RockNes Monsters (Johnny Yuma & Johnny Goodtime) defeated Scorpio Sky & PPRAY (Peter Avalon & Ray Rosas)
Former WWE Star Shad Gaspard (replacing former WWE Star Brian Kendrick) defeated Willie Mack via a modify STO from Gaspard
Candice LaRae defeated Former WWE/TNA Star Winter (w/Heather Lynn) with a cradle pin
After the match, Candice was being double teamed by Winter & Heather Lynn until Joey Ryan came in to save the day. He then grab the mic & talked about the rocky friendship between Joey Ryan & Candice where he apologize & asked to be friends. He then proceeded to become “very friendly” with Candice to only be attacked by Ryan until Drake Younger came in to save the day.
“Mr. GMSI” Brian Cage defeated Former WWE Star Paul London via a Gory Bomb into a Facebuster
“Psycho Shooter” Drake Younger defeated TNA Star “Hollywood’s Own” Joey Ryan via Vertebreaker
Semi Main Event
TJ Perkins defeated “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin via 450 Splash from the top rope
Main Event
The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeated TNA stars Bad Influence (Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) via Double Team move (steamroll into 450 splash with a moonsault) for the 3 count
After the match, Daniels & Kaz grab the mic & gave props to The Young Bucks saying they’re the best tag team in the indies today & challenge them to another match at another Quintessential Pro show.
The fans packed the Monrovia civic center which led to a good turnout for a debut show. All the matches were entertaining, some were comical & some antics were very “adult” oriented. There was a funny surprise in the Ryan/Younger match were Ryan brought in a bag where everyone thought it was thumbtacks but turned out to be Gummi Bears & both men continued their match as a “hardcore” match & not wanting to fall on the pile of Gummi Bears which was very amusing. But like all shows I attend, I look for the match that made the evening & even though I felt that every match had something, one match stood out & tonight’s match of the night goes to:
“Unbreakable” Michael Elgin vs TJ Perkins
This match is a match probably seen by fans who attend PWG shows but this was my first time seeing Elgin compete. But these to wrestlers had some great chemistry which kept the fans entertained. The fans were split down the middle on who they cheered for & these two gave the fans a great match to the point that after the match was over, the fans gather around ringside to pound on the mat as a showing of respect & appreciation to these two warriors. The fans did this with the Main Event, too but I felt Elgin/Perkins made the night.
