Southern California Wrestling Report

Joey Ryan’s time in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla came to an end Saturday Night at the hands of Scorpio Sky’s Ace of Spades. Joey was one of the original six owners of PWG and enjoyed much success with the group. Joey was the first PWG Champion to defend the title outside of the United States, upgrading the title to a World Championship and was a multi-tag team champion. Joey said he would return to PWG when his TNA schedule would allow him. Joey is still currently the EWF Heavyweight Champion and is scheduled to have his final match for them against Brandon Gatson this Friday, December 7th in Covina. Ryan is threatening to take the EWF Title with him to TNA. Thanks to Joey, for all the years of entertainment you provided the fans of Southern California.

Sunday, CWF Hollywood held their latest rounds of television taping. A few missing faces from the show were Nick Madrid, Ryan Taylor (whom were both in action with CWF affiliate West Coast Wrestling Logan XConnection in Oregon), Colt Cabana, and Adam Pearce, who will be appearing on the MPW Podcast, had a prior commitment in Brownsville Texas. Those who were in attendance for the four hours plus taping saw a few new challenges emerge for Willie Mack and his Hollywood Television Championship. The first being Tyler Citron who attacked Mack and the second was the winner of a 10 Man Gauntlet. A few of the other exciting moments during the night was the emergence of Mikey O’Shea, the return of Famous B, the intestinal fortitude of Shaun Ricker in the Gauntlet, and the explosive back and forth between Brian Cage and Timothy Thatcher in an I Quit Match. CWF Hollywood airs weekly on Sunday Mornings (or Saturday Night depending how late you stay up) at 1AM, right after Cheaters on KDOC-TV.

Millennium Pro Wrestling’s final event of the year was “Toys for Tots” event. With 200 people in attendance and 40 toys donated for the Toys for Tots program, organizers for MPW were very excited. In the Main Event, Logan Xavier retained his MPW Heavyweight Championship against JJ Steele. Plans are in the works for the California Classic Battle Royal on January 5th.
