TNA Impact: House Show Recap May 4th

Samoa Joe face washes Christopher Daniels

BTWNCHAOSNORDER’S gives a recap of TNA Impact Wrestling House Show from the Citizen Business Bank Arena, Ontario May 4th 2012.  There were a few changes to the card, but they didn’t take away from the excitement that buzzed at the venue.

1 – Gunner p. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero w/ a rollup & a handful of tights, countering the Top Rope Crossbody.

2 – Tara p. Winter w/ the Widow’s Peak. It was great to see Winter do the one thing I didn’t see her do enough of when she was Katie Lea Burchill in WWE, and that was wrestle.

3 – Mr. Anderson p. Robbie E w/ the Mic Check. Good thing Robbie didn’t bring Cookie w/ him, because you certainly don’t want to be messing around…or fist-pumping w/ wrestling’s big “A-Hole”.

4 – Jeff Hardy p. Kurt Angle w/ the Twist of Fate, followed by the Swanton Bomb. Crowd was obviously hot for this match, and it was nice to see Jeff give the one thing people still respect him for.

SM – After intermission, Samoa Joe & Magnus successfully defended the TNA Tag Team Titles, def. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian when Magnus p. Christopher Daniels w/ the Top Rope Clothesline. Samoa Joe hit the Enziguri in the corner to help set up Magnus’ finisher.

M – Non-title match. Rob Van Dam p. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode w/ the Five Star Frog Splash. Can’t blame Bobby Roode for making it a non-title match, especially since he & RVD will clash for the title at Sacrifice on 5/13.

Great house show, especially since the last time I saw many of these TNA guys was the 2009 Bound For Glory PPV at UC Irvine. Don West put up plenty of great deals, meaning an $80 investment got people alot of great stuff, as well as an opportunity to meet & greet the stars in attendance, especially Jeff Hardy & Samoa Joe. During intermission, both Referees Earl & Brian Hebner did their own autograph signings at the merchandise booth, and Tara did the same thing. After the main event, RVD stuck around, and about half of the total attendance, from my estimation, including myself, got an in-ring photo op with him.
