Jay Cal’s View #65

Mucha Lucha… this weekend apparently is the premier weekend to run a Lucha Libre show of the seven shows that are running, six are of the Lucha Libre variety.  This week I take another look at the bond between Australia and Southern California, I have updates on my podcast, and the weekends schedule, a lot of lucha libre.  SoCal and Australia
Although the Jay Cal’s View is always focusing on what is going on in Southern California, I’ve always found comparisons to the Australian Wrestling Scene and SoCal.  Just about two years ago I wrote an article for SCU about relationship between the SoCal Scene and Western Australia.  And over the years we’ve seen talent from Australia showcased in SoCal with a few guys from SoCal working in Australia.  The last Southern California based championship to be defended in Australia was the PWG World Championship with Chris Hero, he was even featured on a Television program.   One notorious Australian I hadn’t mentioned before was TNT.  TNT, a native from Australia has faced SoCal Talent through out the years working a few shows with Millenium Pro Wrestling and even squaring off against Super Dragon in Australia.  This past weekend the NWA Worlds Championship was defended for the first time in 33 years.

Talk NWA
This weeks TalkNWA will feature Damien Wayne, who is a former NWA North American Champion and a frequent challenger to World Champion Adam Pearce.  We’ll also be playing our interview with SoCal Crazy prior to the last NWA Hollywood television taping.

SoCal Pro’s venue change
If you are heading out to SoCal Pro’s March Madness it will NOT be at the Boys and Girls Club in Oceanside, rather it’ll be at the Escondido Sports and Fitness.  It will be in the large room.  Hope to see you out there.
