Jay Cal’s View #62

So many great shows this week, so little time.  With Lucha VaVoom running from Tuesday thru Thursday this week, many of our SoCal Faithful are working all week long.  Friday night IWL is offering its next Pay Per View, SoCal Pro is hosting another NWA Worlds Championship match, updates on Talk NWA and all the events coming up this week.

Lucha Va Voom
Lucha is for Love will continue to run today and tomorrow, after their first of the trifecta happening last night.  If you have never been to a VaVoom show it blends lucha libre, comedy, and burlesque.  There are still tickets available for Thursday Night.  If anyone is going to these shows, please send us a report or photos to post of the show, Jay.Cal@SoCalUNCENSORED.com.

The Insane Wrestling League iPPV
Those who were looking for an opportunity to catch Paul London live are going to be disappointed.  I think Vic Luna did a pretty good job of putting together this card and if you are going to be in or near [Chino], Friday Night check this show out.  If you aren’t near [Chino], the iPPV is the next best thing, IWL Enters 2012.  The Main Event to crown a new IWL Heavyweight Champion with the Young Bucks, Amazing Red, and Willie Mack can be an incredible match of the year candidate.  Personally the match that I think will steal the show is the IWL Anarchy Championship Match with Famous B defending his title against Ray Rosas.  I openly admit to tweeting that I could watch Famous B vs. Ray Rosas on a loop for days.  IWL make sure you get out to this show, you’re not going to want to miss it.

(SPOILER-ALERT) “You Sold Out You Sold Out,” was the chant that filled the Glendale Studio, the Family Stone now galvanized with the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and his newly commissioned championship belt firmly in their grasp.  The decision to screw over “Boom-Boom” Colt Cabana wasn’t made on February 12th, it had been planned for nearly a year.  When Colt Cabana defeated Pearce for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.  Stu Stone had targeted Colt Cabana for months, but he had been the target of Adam Pearce for much much longer.  The union of the Family Stone and the One Last Ride makes all the sense in the World in Hindsight, however the 400 plus fans in attendance were shocked by the actions of Adam Pearce.  If you’d like to read my thoughts, please check out this link.
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship Match
The match had been signed for weeks, SoCal Pro Wrestling will be hosting a match-up of two long time Southern California legends.  Amazingly, B-Boy and Adam Pearce haven’t faced off one-on-one for the NWA Worlds Title.  Very much a dichotomy of styles, B-Boy since his return to Southern California has mainly focused on opponents that are roughly his size and stature, with the matches being a very high impact.  “Scrap Iron” has had run the gauntlet of opponents since re-gaining the NWA Worlds Championship.  Two weeks ago facing off against Joey Ryan in Germany against Emil Stoci, and in Iowa against Jeremy Wyatt and Tony Cortez.  The matchmakers for this one really put together something that the fans in Oceanside have yet to see.  This will be a great show I’m attending this weekend.

Talk NWA Updates
Saturday Mornings 10:30AM is when my weekly podcast airs.  Although this podcast is NWA Themed, we do cover a lot of what is going on in Southern California– how could I not?  Over the past few weeks we’ve had folks like Famous B, Kevin Douglas, and the Manimal join the show as well as some exclusive interviews with James Morgan, Scorpio Sky and David Marquez.  At the last set of the NWA Hollywood Taping I had a chance to speak with Joey Ryan, Willie Mack, TMDK, SoCal Crazy, and Ray Rosas.  This week we’re talking to Howard Brody, the man behind NWA Ring Warriors in Florida.  And time permitting we’ll play some audio from the NWA Hollywood taping.
