Jay Cal’s View #60

February picks right up where January ended. A lot of action to start the month out.  Empire Wrestling Federation brings the NWA World Champion back to the Inland Empire, Famous B joins us on Talk NWA, and I wanted to take a moment to clear up a misconception.  Thanks to btwnchoasnorder for covering WrestlingReunion 6 for us and all of the matches this weekend.  Anyone find it weird no one is promoting on Saturday?

NWA Worlds Championship On The Line
Empire Wrestling Federation has been advertising a Worlds Heavyweight Championship Match for a few weeks now between “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce and “Hollywood’s Own” Joey Ryan.  Pearce is coming off of matches in Germany’s wXw and working recently for Magnum Pro Wrestling in Iowa.  Pearce who was also recently nominated for SoCal Wrestler of the Year in 2011 and a nomination for CAC Future Legend award, with Brandon Gatson, Billy Blade and Aaron Bolo.  This will be Pearce’s first match in Empire Wrestling Federation since 2010, when Pearce took part of a Six Man Tag that oddly enough saw him team up with now rival in NWA Hollywood, Shaun Ricker and Brian Cage taking on Sean Waltman, Scorpio Sky and the man he faces Friday Night, Joey Ryan.  Joey Ryan has been chasing Pearce for quite a few years, getting a shot in SoCal Pro a few years back and getting a shot at Pearce last year in Hollywood.  This could be Joey’s last chance at wrestling away the title from Pearce as he has embarked on working internationally with Ring Ka King.

Talk NWA
Last week’s interview with Chance Prophet can be listened to at the Talk NWA website, the last half of the show we had a brief interview with James Morgan.  “Mr. Main Event” had more than a few things on his mind, most importantly getting 100% healthy after suffering his career treating Collarbone Injury.  Fans who’d like to well wish Morgan on the healing process can do so at GetWellSoonJamesMorgan@gmail.com.  This week we’re pleased to have Famous B join the podcast, although the show is NWA specific we’ll be talking all things B, like training at Santino Brother’s, Lucha Va Voom, PWG, and of course NWA Hollywood.  If you’d like to call in… the  number is (646) 478-3019 and we have a live chat on the show at www.talknwa.com

Clearing Up a Misconception
Recently a promoter who I respect very much contacted me in confidence.  He mentioned to me that another promoter felt snubbed by our website.  Indicating that someone from SCU told the promoter that we don’t cover promotions like his.  I don’t know where this rumor started and as evident by the last XWW show, we have really just a few conditions for your promotion to be covered by SCU.  Ultimately if you are promoting shows with trained wrestlers, we do our best to cover it.  If you want your press-releases, show results, or breaking news on the site, or just have a question please email me at Jay.Cal@SoCalUNCENSORED.com.  In any given weekend their is anywhere between 3-8 shows a week.  And although SoCalUNCENSORED has a very professional looking operation, the site is pretty much ran by Adair and myself, with a few content contributors like btwnchoasnorder.

WrestleReunion Coverage
Special thanks tobtwnchoasnorder for providing a lot of the WrestleReunion 6 Coverage.  You can read his reports on the three shows in the Chaos Column.  Each Report features; a report of what happened, analysis, a shot of the night, and a link to more photographs taken at the show.
