Chaos Column: Recap of MPW & DCW’s “Collision” 08/06/2011

SoCal’s own btwnchaosnorder gives a recap of the MPW and DCW’s “Collision” Join Show at the American Legion Post #507, Newhall. Capacity crowd for this show in the Antelope Valley area, one week away from the big weekend of wrestling in So Cal (i.e. the August taping of NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood & WWE SummerSlam). Christian Cole got things going, & M1W / NWA Hollywood ring announcer Angelo Trinidad took the ring announcing task for the 10-match card:

1 – Tito Escondido p. Freddy Bravo w/ a Fireman’s Carry Slam to the front. Tito seems to be getting back on track after recovering from a bruised knee he got from hitting the unpadded part of the apron at the LCW/DMT iPPV last June.

2 – Crayz p. Hellkid w/ a Neckbreaker after throwing salt into Hellkid’s face, courtesy of his co-manager & “mistress”, while co-manager Tex Tunney distracted Referee Patrick Hernandez, who was knocked down late in the match.

3 – Thunderkitty made Chloe submit to a Stinkface submission on the mat, using her legs to lock her opponent’s arms in place to ensure the submission.

* Before the next match, EWF, MPW, & LLUSA commentator Lalo Gonzalez made an announcement about managing a tag team, and would watch the next match carefully. This drew quite the dismay of MPW Promoter Barry Cohen.

4 – NEW MPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! Omar Duncan & Whiskey Fists MacIntosh (w/ Tex Tunney) def. Anchors Away (David E. Jones & Ryan Stone). Tex Tunney snared the ankles of David E. Jones, making his face hit Whiskey Fists MacIntosh’s right knee brace, knocking him out cold, leading to him getting pinned by the Scottish wrestler.

5 – Intergender 6-wrestler match in which Allison Danger, Shaun Rickers, & Ultimo Shamu def. “NY Knockout” Nikki, Vic D. Vine, & Phoenix Star. Wild finish in the end that saw Ultimo Shamu hit a big Chokehold Stunner on Nikki, allowing Allison Danger to score the pin. Looks like the ladies will collide again in October.

6 – After intermission, Spectre squashed Hobo / a Fireman’s Carry Slam.

7 – Triple Threat Elimination Match between Gunnar Tobias Ulrich, Tommy Misfit, & Fern Owen. Gunnar was first eliminated by Tommy Misfit, who was then eliminated by Fern Owen, after his new partner ran-in to clean his opponents out, making a heel turn.

8 – Logan X successfully defended his MPW Maximum Title, knocking Chris Kadillak out cold w/ his 2nd Sleeperhold, countering an O’Connor Roll cover.

SM – Champion v. Champion match between DCW Champion Famous B & Ty-Tan (didn’t catch his own particular title, but I’m positive he’s one of the champions in the Las Vegas indie circuit) ended in a No Contest when Fern Own & Gunnar Tobias Ulrich ran in and attacked, only to eat Ty-Tan’s Tree Slam, and Famous B’s Swanton Bomb.

M – “I Quit!” Match between Brawlin’ Bo Cooper (w/ celebrity guest star Brett Wagner) & Mario Banks (w/ Tex Tunney). Action went all over the hall, w/ a trash can, some chain, plenty of chairs, thumbtacks, a cheese grater, a pizza cutter, & a table used as weapons. Omar Duncan & Whiskey Fists MacIntosh tried to interfere, only to be cancelled out by Hellkid & Logan X. Bo Cooper slammed Mario Banks onto the table, then grabbed the chain, and choked Mario Banks out to make him say the humiliating words
