Jay Cal’s View #11

Jay Cal’s View #11 is back. Sorry for not posting an article last week. Hopefully we’ll keep this article a weekly deal and in the future maybe we’ll have the addition of guest writers on Jay Cal View. This week’s View I share some WWE PPV Memories to coincide with Summer Slam happening Sunday at Staples. PWG has announced the first three participants for the BOLA. I also give a few shout outs to the SoCal guys who ranked in the Top Ten and I want to hear your thoughts on MTV2’s Masked Warriors, Lucha Libre USA. Plus I’ve got a lot of results and a lot of Action happening in SoCal this weekend.

SoCal has been blessed with regular Pay Per Views from World Wrestling Entertainment going as far back as 1986. Some of you weren’t even born yet. I remember being seven years old. It was the only Wrestlemania to ever take place on a Monday Night, it was also the first Wrestlemania to be on pay per view. I asked my mom if we could go to the big show. I knew that Hulk Hogan was going to face King Kong Bundy. Momma Cal told me that we couldn’t go, but we could watch it at home. So that’s what we did. And I sat through hours of wrestle-tainment as celebrities meshed with pro-wrestling. And although I watched many of pay per views from Casa De Cal, I wouldn’t attend my first PPV until Wrestlemania 13. Subsequently, I attended my last WWE PPV at the Royal Rumble 1999. I spent all my hard earned cash on a floor seat, couldn’t quite afford ringside. And the entire night I sat behind somebody’s sign. After watching the Pond’s monitor for duration, I decided I wouldn’t put down that kind of money again for a live show. The WWE has come back… to Southern California and they are bringing the Fan Axxess.
