PWG Presents ”Enchantment Under The Sea” On May 20!

By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer

Peak Eight, CA – While the world of professional wrestling isn’t usually known for its soirées, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) would like that to change on May 20, 2006 when you, the professional wrestling fan, are cordially invited to “Enchantment Under The Sea,” a formal promenade. The event will be a homecoming of sorts, as it takes place at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC, affectionately known as “The Sweatbox.” Traditionally, appropriate attire for an event such as this is an elegant gown and tiara ensemble for the ladies, and a tuxedo, with optional cummerbund, dickie, or spats for the gents. As you may have noticed though, PWG is not a traditional wrestling promotion, so we would like to advise our fans that this event will have a casual dress code, however no firearms will be permitted on the premises. We would hope that by forgoing the need for traditional attire, the money one saves on a tuxedo deposit, for example, could be better spent at the merchandise table. The World Title scene was left in a state of chaos after May 6’s “(Please Don’t Call It) The O.C.” and now seems even more confusing since Chris Sabin will face Joey Ryan for the belt on May 20! But fear not, loyal PWG supporter, with the help of PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood and our crack legal team, I will guide you through it all! After the dust had settled on May 6, this fact was clear: Frankie Kazarian was the Number One Contender to Joey Ryan’s PWG World Championship. How did this occur? And why is Chris Sabin getting a title shot? By itemizing the information below, I will attempt to explain:

– In the tag team match featuring B-Boy & Frankie Kazarian taking on Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky, Frankie scored a pinfall victory over Joey Ryan, thrusting Frankie into the Number One Contender spot previously held by B-Boy.

– Post match, Scorpio Sky attacked Frankie Kazarian, leveling him with a vicious chair shot, then cutting off his trademark ponytail. Kazarian, still dazed by the chairshot, was carried out by Human Tornado, and begrudgingly, B-Boy, who was still upset about losing his Number One Contendership.

– Yesterday, Scorpio Sky contacted PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood and said that he was receiving death threats from Frankie Kazarian, and that he had obtained a restraining order preventing Kazarian from coming within 1000 feet of Scorpio Sky. While the validity of this was instantly questioned, everything appears to be in order, and until Frankie is proven not to have sent the alleged death threats, he will not be able to cash in his title shot.

– Commissioner Winwood quickly decided that B-Boy would take Frankie Kazarian’s place, and finally face Joey Ryan for the PWG World Championship. Joey Ryan, who appears to have an intimate knowledge of the legality of the PWG Title, stated that when a Number One Contender exists, he should not have to defend his title against any other challenger, and would most definitely not be putting the title on the line against B-Boy.

– Dino fired back that if Joey won’t defend his title at “Enchantment Under The Sea,” he could have a non-title handicap match against the entire PWG locker room. After briefly considering this, Joey stated that he would defend the title against anyone except B-Boy on May 20.

– With a compromise near, Dino nominated the man who came closest to defeating Joey for the PWG World Championship, Chris Sabin, and just to make sure everything goes by the book, Commissioner Winwood would be the Special Guest Referee.

So, as convoluted as it may seem at first, the PWG World Title situation isn’t that complicated when broken down like a high school science report. However, it took a PWG official, 3 Ivy League Educated lawyers, and myself, your intrepid PWG reporter, to state the information succinctly.

“Enchantment Under The Sea” takes place on Saturday, May 20 at 7:30PM at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC, and will also feature:

PWG World Tag Team Championship Match
Super Dragon & Davey Richards vs. Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost)

– Davey Richards sent word to the PWG office that he has been cleared to return to in-ring action ahead of schedule, and was ready to test himself against anyone. Commissioner Winwood decided that Arrogance was impressive enough in the 8-Man Match at “(Please Don’t Call It) The O.C.” to warrant a title shot, instead of the yet untested Briscoe Brothers.

Human Tornado vs. Scorpio Sky (with Jade Chung)

– In March at “Beyond The Tunderdome,” Human Tornado stepped into the ring against doctor’s orders, but that ended up being the least of his worries. Jade Chung turned her back on Tornado, formed an alliance with Scorpio Sky, and proceeded to help him further injure Tornado. Now that Tornado is 100% healthy, he’s ready to get his revenge on the duo, and as an extra incentive, if Human Tornado wins, he gets 5 minutes in the ring With Jade Chung! Tornado said what he had in mind usually takes him a lot longer than 5 minutes, so instead maybe he could match Ms. Chung’s hairstyle to Frankie Kazarian’s!

The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver)

– After their loss at “Crazymania: ASW3,” Cape Fear is trying to work their way back into the PWG tag team title picture. The Briscoe Brothers are looking to prove they are worth facing the champions, and if they have to use Cape Fear as a stepping stone, then so be it.

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. “Most Money Making Man” Claudio Castagnoli

B-Boy vs. Matt Sydal

Disco Machine & Nemesis vs. Rocky Romero & TJ Perkins

– Impressed by his former trainee’s progress, Rocky Romero has decided to team up with the “Youngest Old Timer In The Business” TJ Perkins in the hopes of capturing the titles. Disco Machine & Nemesis have quickly become fan favorites, but will that translate into a victory against their hard hitting opponents?

“Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen vs. Austin Aries

Bino Gambino & Top Gun Talwar vs. Alex Koslov & Ronin
